What makes a good skill
The best skills come from people who do the job every day. Write down how you actually work: your steps, your rules of thumb, the mistakes beginners make, and a few examples of great results. You don't need to code.
The steps
- Set up your maker page. Your name, what you do, and why people should trust your know-how.
- Make the skill: a folder with a SKILL.md file inside, holding your steps, rules and examples.
- Try it yourself. Add the folder to your own AI app and check the results look like your own work.
- Upload it in your studio as a .zip. It goes through our checks, and you see anything to fix. Skills about money, betting, health, legal matters or account actions also get our full review before Trilly approves them.
- Check the map. Your studio shows the step-by-step map buyers will see: what your skill does, which of their apps it uses and where it stops for them. Check it, change it if you need to, and confirm it. Skill maps for makers
- Set a price. Free, or one-off, monthly or yearly. Your studio shows when a paid skill can be bought.
- Get paid. You connect your bank account through Stripe, and you're paid once a month. Stripe's payout fees come out of your share: 0.25% of what you're paid, and A$2.25 for each month you're paid. Payouts need you to be based in Australia, with an Australian bank account, for now. Your studio asks where you're based first, and makers elsewhere can ask to be told when payouts open there. Your free skills are live everywhere.
The money
You set the price. For each sale, Trilly keeps a commission, the card fee and Stripe's payout fees are passed on at cost, and you get the rest. Selling paid skills needs a paid maker plan. Any maker can choose one for more skills and reviews, and sell on it once payouts open where they're based. The rates, and how they drop as you move up maker tiers, are on our pricing page. Payouts, refunds and card disputes are covered in the creator terms.
The rules
Your skill must be your own work (or you must have the right to sell it), and it must follow the skill rules.
