Connectors and browser helpers
Checked 12 October 2026. Each skill on Trilly says what it can do beyond the chat under "What you get". You choose: let your AI use your apps and do the clicking, or get a copy-ready version to paste yourself. What connected apps and browser helpers are
Connected apps. Codex can use connections set up in its settings. It's a technical set-up.
Browser helper. Codex has no browser helper for websites. Skills still work in the chat.
Which folder should I use?
| Where | Who gets the skill | Path |
|---|---|---|
| Personal | You, in every project | ~/.agents/skills/skill-name/SKILL.md |
| Project | Everyone who works in this project | .agents/skills/skill-name/SKILL.md |
| Whole computer | Every user (set up by an admin) | /etc/codex/skills/skill-name/SKILL.md |
~ means your home folder: on Windows that's C:\Users\your-name, on a Mac it's /Users/your-name. Other tools read ~/.agents/skills too, including GitHub Copilot and Cursor, so one copy often covers several apps.
The ChatGPT and Codex plugin
The skill's Add to my AI page also offers a ChatGPT and Codex plugin download. It unzips to a folder called trilly-skill-name, which is a small plugin marketplace on your computer. It suits people whose workspace prefers plugins.
- Unzip it somewhere it can stay, such as your Documents folder.
- In a terminal, run
codex plugin marketplace addfollowed by the path to that folder. - In Codex's command-line tool, type
/plugins, choose the plugin from thetrilly-skill-namemarketplace and add it. In the ChatGPT desktop app, restart the app first, then open the Plugins Directory and choose that marketplace. - Start a new session before you use it.
The editor extension doesn't support plugins. For anything else, OpenAI's guide to adding and using plugins has the details.
Good to know
- AGENTS.md is different. It holds a project's always-on rules, up to 32 KiB. Skills load only when the job comes up.
- Updating is the same as adding: replace the folder with the new version from Trilly.
- Removing: delete the skill's folder.
Linking Codex to Trilly
Codex can use MCP servers set up in its config.toml file. Trilly links with any app that can add a remote MCP server with sign-in. If your version of Codex can, add a server named Trilly with the address https://trilly.io/api/mcp and follow the steps at Link your AI. If it can't, download the skill as shown above.
