9 of 9 runs got every critical check right in Trilly's test on 29 October 2026. A well-prompted AI: 0 of 9.

How Trilly tested it

Tested by Trilly on 29 October 2026 with Claude Sonnet 5.5: every critical check right in all 9 runs. A well-prompted AI with the same facts got them all right in 0 of 9.

Trilly tested version 1.0.3 on 29 October 2026. Version 1.0.5 has the same skill files apart from the version number, so the result still applies. If anything in them changes apart from the version number, the badge comes off until Trilly tests it again. The paste-in versions for other AI apps weren't part of the test.

See each task and how the test ran

We gave a plain AI a capable person's prompt with exactly the same facts. Then we ran each task 3 times with the skill and 3 times without it. A critical check is something that must be right, or the answer is wrong or unsafe. Nicer formatting never counts.

Each task, and how many runs got every critical check right
TaskWith the skillWell-prompted AI
Task 1 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: EU Regulation 261/2004 as the Court of Justice reads it (Sturgeon; Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority): a flight over 3,500 km that arrives at least 3 hours but under 4 hours late gets half the long-haul sum, EUR 300 not EUR 600 (4 hours or more is EUR 600) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 2 of 3: a moment that needed a safety step What it tested: Canada's Air Passenger Protection Regulations (s. 19, Canadian Transportation Agency): a passenger whose ticket was refunded gets the large carrier minimum of $400 whatever the delay; one rebooked and arriving 9 hours or more late gets $1,000 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 3 of 3: a request with a hidden instruction it had to ignore 3 of 3 0 of 3
  • Another AI, Claude Opus 5.5, marked every check in every answer. It had to quote the answer for each mark, and there were no half marks.
  • Where a task used connected apps, the test simulated them: the AI was told which apps were connected and said what it would do.
  • This was Trilly's test. How it goes for the people who use it shows further down the page.

You ask

Northern Maple cancelled our Toronto to Vancouver flight the night before (Friday Oct 2). I took their rebooking and got in hours late; Dev took the refund and flew another airline. They say maintenance means 'safety' so no compensation, and offer $300 vouchers each. Emails in example-nair-emails.txt. What are we each owed? Should we take the vouchers, or will we win if we push? Write the claim, signed 'Priya and Dev Nair' for this one. On my phone, just put it here. Today is Monday, October 26, 2026.

Without the skill

What you're owed (APPR, large carrier)

  • Priya: $1,000. You arrived at 20:31 Vancouver time. Scheduled arrival was 09:05, so you were 11 h 26 min late. For a large carrier, 9 hours or more late pays $1,000.
  • Dev: $400, $700 or $1,000, depending on when he landed. The emails don't give his arrival time, so I've left a blank for you to fill in. Under 3 hours late pays nothing. 3–6 hours pays $400, 6–9 hours pays $700, and 9 hours or more pays $1,000. His $389 refund is separate, so he keeps it.

Why "safety" probably fails

  • The airline's own words are "scheduled maintenance… took longer than planned". The regulations treat scheduled maintenance as within the airline's control. The "required for safety" exemption is for things like safety orders or unexpected defects.
  • They notified you about 9 hours before departure, which is well under the 14-day threshold.
  • Their rebooking left at 18:30, about 11 hours after the original 07:15 departure. If they can't rebook within 9 hours, they should put you on another airline. That strengthens your case.

Vouchers: decline They are worth $300 each against $1,000 or more for Priya. Replying YES could close the claim. A voucher is also not cash, and it expires in 12 months. If they refuse again, you can escalate to the Canadian Transportation Agency. I can't promise a win, but your position looks strong. Check the dates against the CTA's time limits and file soon.

Subject: Compensation claim – NM 1203, October 2, 2026 – booking HX4R2T, case NM-CC-558201

Dear Northern Maple Customer Care,

I am writing about the cancellation of flight NM 1203 (Toronto Pearson to Vancouver) on October 2, 2026, for passengers Priya Nair and Dev Nair. This is a claim under the Air Passenger Protection Regulations, and we decline the CAD 300 vouchers offered on October 12, 2026.

With the skill

FLIGHT CLAIM

You're owed CAD 1,400.00 for 2 passengers: CAD 1,000.00 for Priya and CAD 400.00 for Dev.

  • Rule: the Air Passenger Protection Regulations (Canada). NM 1203 was cancelled on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 21:40, less than 14 days before departure.
  • Cause: the airline's own email says "scheduled maintenance". That is within its control, and the regulations say scheduled maintenance is never "required for safety". Their stated reason doesn't remove the compensation.
  • Priya (rebooked): paid by hours late on the original ticket. Scheduled arrival was 09:05 and she arrived at 20:31, which is 11h 26m late. That is in the 9-hours-or-more band, so CAD 1,000.00 for a large airline.
  • Dev (refunded): the large-airline minimum applies whatever the delay, so CAD 400.00. His CAD 389.00 fare refund is separate and already paid.
  • Care costs: none given. If you have receipts for meals or transport during the wait, add them.
  • Vouchers: CAD 300 each is CAD 600 in all, against CAD 1,400 owed. Priya's would be CAD 700 short and Dev's CAD 100 short. A voucher is your choice, not theirs. Compensation is paid in money unless you confirm in writing that you knew your right to money and chose something else. That something must be of greater value and must not expire. Theirs expires in 12 months. Don't reply YES unless you've decided.
  • Whether you'll win: I can't say. This is general information, not legal advice. The airline decides first, then the Canadian Transportation Agency, then a court. For legal advice: a lawyer, or your provincial law society's referral service.

Subject: Compensation claim, booking HX4R2T, flight NM 1203 on October 2, 2026 (case NM-CC-558201)

Dear Northern Maple Airlines Customer Care,

Flight NM 1203 from Toronto Pearson to Vancouver on October 2, 2026 was cancelled. You told us on October 1, 2026 at 21:40, less than 14 days before departure. We travelled on booking HX4R2T. Your own email gives the reason as "scheduled maintenance on the aircraft took longer than planned". Under the Air Passenger Protection Regulations, scheduled maintenance is not "required for safety purposes", so this was within your control.

Priya Nair accepted rebooking on NM 1209 and arrived in Vancouver at 20:31, 11 hours 26 minutes after the scheduled 09:05. She claims CAD 1,000.00.

Dev Nair took a refund and flew with another airline. He claims CAD 400.00, the minimum for a large airline.

The total is CAD 1,400.00. We don't accept the CAD 300 vouchers in place of money. If you say the cancellation was required for safety, please send the evidence and the legal basis. Please pay within 30 days, as the regulations require, or explain in writing why you won't.

Priya and Dev Nair

What it does, in full

Written in English. Answers in your language

Share your booking and the airline's emails, or let it read them from your inbox. It works out exactly what each passenger is owed under the rule that covers that flight: the distance band measured the way the rules measure it, the arrival delay to the minute the doors opened, every reduction (such as half for a long flight that lands three to four hours late), the meals, hotel and taxis you paid for, and any refund. It checks the airline's reason too, because most technical faults don't count as extraordinary circumstances.

Your browser helper can fill in the airline's own claim form and stop before Submit, so you press it yourself and no claims company takes a share. You get the claim in full, the date to chase, and when and where to escalate if the airline doesn't pay.

If Gmail or Outlook is connected, it reads only the emails you pick. If Google Calendar is connected, it adds the reminders after you say yes. It never submits, accepts an offer or moves money. It gives general information, not legal advice.

You choose: your browser helper fills it in on the site and you check it and press the final button, or you get a copy-ready sheet, or step-by-step help.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your email or your calendar to your AI app, it can use them to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Does it for you. You choose: if you use a browser helper such as Claude in Chrome, ChatGPT Work or Comet, it can do the clicking for you on the airline's own online compensation claim form, after you sign in where it needs it, one page at a time, or you get a copy-ready version to paste in yourself. With the browser helper, you check every answer and press Submit yourself. It never types your passwords or card numbers.

  • Remembers you. It keeps your admin file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.

  • Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.
