Checks for each app
Each app's set-up steps are on its own page: see every app.
Claude (web, desktop and phone)
- Code execution must be on. Settings, Capabilities: turn on "Code execution and file creation". Skills don't run without it. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner controls this.
- Is it there and switched on? Customize, Skills: the skill should be listed with its switch on.
- Same file? Claude needs the .zip exactly as Trilly made it. One that was unzipped and zipped again is often refused.
- New version? Delete the old skill in Customize, Skills, then upload the new .zip.
- Linked to Trilly instead? In a chat, press +, then Connectors, and check Trilly is on. On Team and Enterprise plans, only an Owner can add Trilly as a custom connector, in Organization settings; members then press Connect.
Claude Code
- The skill's folder must be in
~/.claude/skills(just you) or the project's.claude/skills, with the name Trilly gave it. - Type
/skillsto see what Claude Code found, or/skill-doctorto check one. If you made the skills folder while Claude Code was open, type/reload-skills.
ChatGPT
- Workspace plans (Business, Enterprise, Edu): open Plugins, then the Skills tab. Check the skill is there and turned on. If it says Needs Review or Blocked, your admin's rules are holding it back.
- Personal plans: you're using a Project copy. Check the instructions are pasted into the Project and that you're chatting inside it.
- Temporary chats: personalised temporary chats (the default) can use your plugins; unpersonalised ones can't.
- Call it with @ and its name.
Codex
- The folder must be in
~/.agents/skillsor the project's.agents/skills. Type$or/skillsto see it. Restart Codex if it doesn't show.
Gemini
- Customize, Skills: check the skill is there and active. Type / or @ and pick it.
- Skills need a personal Google account, aged 18 or over, with Keep Activity on. Work and school accounts get Gemini app skills from 13 October 2026, rolling out until mid-November.
- Uploading only works on the web, at gemini.google.com. After that, the skill works in the phone app too.
- Using a Gem copy? Open the Gem and chat there.
Microsoft 365 Copilot
- Open your agent in Agent Builder, then Configure, Skills. Check the skill is listed, then use Try it.
- An agent holds up to 8 skills. Agent Builder isn't in the phone app, so set it up on a computer.
GitHub Copilot
- The folder must be in the repository's
.github/skills,.claude/skillsor.agents/skills, or in~/.copilot/skillsfor just you. A folder whose name doesn't match the skill's name is skipped without a warning.
Cursor
- The folder must be in
.cursor/skillsor~/.cursor/skills. Cursor looks for skills when it starts, so restart it. Only~/.cursor/skillsreaches Cloud Agents.
Antigravity
- The folder must be in the project's
.agents/skillsor in~/.gemini/config/skills. Type / and the skill's name.
Perplexity
- In Perplexity Computer, open Skills and check the skill is there. The .zip can be 10 MB at most.
Mistral Vibe
- Context, Skills: check it's switched on. Changes apply to new chats, so start a new one. Type / and its name.
Grok
- Grok gets skills through the link. At grok.com/connectors, check Trilly is there and connected. Then ask for the skill by name.
- Pasted in a Grok skill version? Check it's in Grok's skills at grok.com/skills, then ask Grok to use it.
Grok Build
- Run
grok inspectto see the skills Grok Build found, or type /skills. Grok Build reads~/.grok/skills,.grok/skillsin the project and~/.agents/skills, and Claude Code's skills too.
Other apps
- Each app reads its own skills folder. See the folders for other apps.
Still not working?
- Get the latest version. Your library shows when a new version is out. If your AI is linked to Trilly, it gets updates by itself.
- Download a fresh copy. A .zip that was unzipped, renamed or zipped again often stops working.
- Tell the maker. Press "Send feedback to the maker" on the skill's page and say which app you used. More ideas: A skill isn't working.
- Seems unsafe? Stop using it, switch it off, and report it.
