Connectors and browser helpers
Checked 12 October 2026. Each skill on Trilly says what it can do beyond the chat under "What you get". You choose: let your AI use your apps and do the clicking, or get a copy-ready version to paste yourself. What connected apps and browser helpers are
Connected apps. Claude connects to hundreds of apps on every plan, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Notion, Canva, Shopify, HubSpot and Xero. Open Customize, then Connectors, pick the app, press Connect and sign in on that app's own page. In Gmail, Claude can write, send, reply to and forward emails, and by default it asks for your approval before it sends, replies or forwards. Xero is read-only in Claude. Keep anything that changes things on Needs approval.
Browser helper. Claude in Chrome works on any paid Claude plan (Pro is from US$20 a month), in Google Chrome on a computer, with no country limit stated. Add it from the Chrome Web Store, sign in with your Claude account and choose Manually approve, so it asks before each step. You may need to attach files yourself.
If the upload doesn't work
Anthropic lists the usual reasons an upload fails:
- The .zip was unzipped and zipped again. Claude looks for the skill's folder inside the .zip, with SKILL.md in that folder. A SKILL.md sitting loose in the .zip isn't recognised. Download a fresh copy from Trilly and upload it unchanged.
- The folder name was changed. The folder's name must match the skill's name inside SKILL.md.
- The file is too big. Skills on Trilly are small, so this usually means the wrong file was picked.
- There's no upload option. Code execution may be off, or on Team and Enterprise plans your Owner controls skills.
Team and Enterprise plans
Owners control skills in Organization settings, Plugins & skills. On Team plans skills are on by default. On Enterprise plans an Owner turns them on, and skills published to the whole organisation can be set to wait for review. Since 2 October 2026, Enterprise plans scan skills and plugins for security problems by default.
Skills a teammate shares with you are view only, start switched off, and update by themselves when the owner changes them.
Prefer a Claude Project?
Some skills on Trilly also come with a Project version: a short copy you paste into a Claude Project. It's there only if the skill's maker made one.
- On the skill's Add to my AI page, choose the Project version.
- In Claude, create a project.
- Paste the Project version into the project's instructions.
- Chat inside that project when you want the skill's help.
A pasted copy is a snapshot. It won't update when the maker improves the skill, and Trilly can't count your use in the skill's public numbers. A real skill is the better choice when you can use one.
Cowork and the Office add-ins
Cowork uses the skills on your claude.ai account. Claude's add-ins for Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook show the skills that suit that app when you type /.
Link Claude to Trilly once, then add skills by asking
Instead of downloading and uploading each skill, you can link Claude to Trilly. You do it once:
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Choose + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Trilly and paste this address:
https://trilly.io/api/mcp - Click Connect. Trilly opens and asks you to say yes. It lists exactly what Claude will be able to do.
On Team and Enterprise plans, members can't add custom connectors. An Owner adds Trilly once, in Organization settings, Connectors, and then each person presses Connect in their own Connectors list. On the Free plan you can have one custom connector.
Then just ask Claude, for example "find a skill on Trilly for my budget and add it". Claude adds it, and Trilly sends the approved version each time you use it, so it's always up to date and can't be changed by anyone along the way. Connectors you add on the web also work in the Claude desktop and mobile apps.
