What a skill can do
- Ask. You paste or upload what you have, and the skill does the job in the chat. Every skill on Trilly does this, in every AI app it's made for.
- Works with your apps. If you connect an app such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Shopify or Xero to your AI app, the skill can find what it needs there, and save events or emails for you to check after you say yes.
- Does it for you. The skill gets everything ready in the chat. Then a browser helper fills in the website, one page at a time, while you watch. You check every answer and press the final button yourself.
Each skill's page says which of these it can do, under What you get, and which AI apps can do each part. You choose which to use, each time.
Connected apps
A connected app is a safe link between your AI app and another app you use. Some AI apps call it a connector, a plugin or an app. You sign in to that app on its own page, so your AI never sees your password.
What it means for you:
- Your AI can look things up for you, like "find the quote from Coastal Living in my email".
- It can save things for you after you say yes, like an email ready for you to send, a calendar event or a new sheet in a spreadsheet.
- You choose which apps to connect, and you can disconnect them any time.
How to switch one on (checked 12 October 2026)
| AI app | Where | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Claude | Customize, then Connectors. Pick the app, press Connect and sign in on that app's own page. In a chat, press + then Connectors to switch one on or off | Every plan. In Gmail, Claude can write, send, reply to and forward emails, and by default it asks for your approval before it sends, replies or forwards. Xero is read-only in Claude. Outlook needs a work or school Microsoft 365 account |
| ChatGPT | Settings, then Plugins. Pick the app and sign in to it | Which apps you see depends on your plan and country |
| Gemini | Settings, then Connected apps | Google's own apps and a few others. On personal accounts it can find and sum up Gmail and Drive, and add to Calendar, Keep and Tasks |
| Microsoft 365 Copilot | Your work email, calendar, files and Teams are there already | Other apps need your admin |
| Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity | In each tool's settings | A technical set-up |
| GitHub Copilot | Ask your admin | Off until a company admin turns it on |
| Perplexity, Mistral Vibe | We haven't checked these yet |
Staying safe with connected apps
- Connect one app at a time, and only the ones a skill needs.
- Choose read-only when the app offers it.
- Leave anything that changes things on Needs approval (Claude) or Always ask (ChatGPT). Don't choose "Always allow" for anything that writes or sends.
- To undo it, disconnect the app in the same place you connected it.
Browser helpers
A browser helper is part of your AI app that can use a website for you. It clicks, types and moves between pages while you watch. It helps when the job finishes on a website no connected app reaches, like an employer's job application form, a returns form or a supermarket cart.
How it works with a Trilly skill:
- The skill does the thinking in the chat and writes a short card: the website, what goes in each box, the files to attach, and where to stop.
- You open the website and sign in yourself.
- The browser helper fills it in from the card, one page at a time.
- It stops before the final button (Submit, Send or Pay) and shows you every answer. You check them and press it yourself.
- Back in the chat, you get a note of what was entered and any reference number.
Which browser helpers there are (checked 12 October 2026)
| Browser helper | Works with | Who can use it |
|---|---|---|
| Claude in Chrome | Claude | Any paid Claude plan (Pro is from US$20 a month), in Google Chrome on a computer. No country limit is stated |
| ChatGPT Work | ChatGPT | Paid plans except Free and Go, in the countries ChatGPT supports. In its cloud browser, the desktop app, or the ChatGPT extension for Chrome and Edge |
| Comet | Perplexity | Perplexity's free browser for Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone, in any country. Comet Plus is US$5 a month, and comes with Pro and Max |
| Gemini in Chrome (auto browse) | Gemini | In the US only, with Google AI Pro (US$19.99 a month) or Ultra |
| Browse with Copilot | Microsoft Edge | In the US only, with Microsoft 365 Premium |
ChatGPT's old agent mode and Atlas, and Edge's Copilot Mode, are retired.
How to switch one on safely
- Install it only from the official store or the AI app's own website.
- Choose the careful mode: Manually approve in Claude in Chrome, Always ask in ChatGPT. Never "Skip all approvals" or "Always allow".
- Try one harmless job first, like "find the returns page on this shop".
- Attaching files: Claude in Chrome can add images, but you may need to attach a PDF, like a CV, yourself. The ChatGPT extension can attach files once "Allow access to file URLs" is on; ChatGPT's built-in browser can't.
- Comet has fewer published safety controls than the others, so watch each step.
- Some workplaces block browser helpers. That's their call.
You choose the path
A skill offers the most helpful way first, and simpler ways too. You pick, and you can change your mind any time:
- Fill it in for me. The browser helper fills in the website while you watch. You check it and press the final button yourself.
- Copy-ready. The skill writes everything out, ready for you to paste in.
- Walk me through it. Step by step, one box at a time.
For example, on a job site like SEEK, LinkedIn or Indeed: let Claude in Chrome fill in the application for you (you check it and press Submit), or get a copy-ready version to paste yourself. Some sites' terms of use limit automated tools, so it's your call.
Whichever you choose:
- for banking and investing accounts, or anything that moves money, the skill gives you copy-ready text and you enter it yourself; on government, tax, health and insurance sites it's your choice like anywhere else, and you always sign in and do any identity checks yourself;
- it's one at a time, with you watching, never in bulk like "apply to 50 jobs".
What Trilly skills never do
Every skill on Trilly is checked before it goes live. None of them may:
- ask for your passwords, one-time codes, card or bank details, or ID numbers;
- ask you to pay through the chat;
- tell your AI to skip asking you, or to act without telling you;
- send your details to a website it didn't declare.
Trilly Originals, the skills Trilly makes, also:
- show you first, and change nothing in your apps without a clear yes;
- never move money: no payments, transfers, refunds or payroll, even if the app allows it;
- leave the final button (Submit, Send, Post, Publish or Pay) for you to press;
- never create accounts, get past CAPTCHAs or other bot checks, or do identity checks for you;
- work one at a time, never in bulk.
If a skill asks for a password or tries to do any of these, stop and report it.
Your apps on each skill's map
Skills with a map show each step of how they work on their page. Tell Trilly the apps you use once, in My apps and maps, and every map shows which steps can use your apps and which are copy-ready. Skill maps · Your apps
Do I need any of this?
No. Every skill works from what you paste or upload. Connected apps and browser helpers save you the copying and clicking, and the skill's page tells you which AI apps can do them. You choose.
