What a measured result is
A number from each person's own world after using your skill. For example: "search traffic up a median 18% four weeks later", "money back" or "minutes per report". Your skill works it out from their data (measured), or asks them (people say). They see the number and choose whether to send it. Only the number goes to Trilly, never their data.
1. Declare it in trilly.json
"results": [
{
"key": "search_traffic",
"label": "Search traffic",
"unit": "percent_change",
"better": "higher",
"afterDays": 28,
"kind": "measured",
"source": "the person's Google Search Console",
"method": "Clicks in the 28 days after against the 28 days before.",
"min": -100,
"max": 1000
}
]
- unit:
percent_change,minutes,count, or a currency's code in lowercase, likeaud. - better:
higherorlower. - When:
afterDays(1 to 90), or"atFinish": truefor a number known when the task ends. - kind:
measuredwhen your skill reads the person's data,reportedwhen the person says it. - min and max: the lowest and highest a real result could be, good or bad. A number better than the best is kept and never counted. One worse than the worst still counts, as sent, so make them hold every real result.
Up to two results. People see your label, source and method as you wrote them.
2. Write its measuring step in SKILL.md
Put the step between a line :::trilly-result search_traffic Measure search traffic and a line :::. Say where the number comes from and how to work it out. Never suggest a number. Don't send anything: Trilly adds the sending step to every copy. It shows the person the number and asks first.
A declared result without its step fails review. Trilly reads every measuring step before the version goes live.
3. What people see
From 20 people, your skill's page shows the median, its likely range and how many people, for every version together and for your three newest. Below 20 it says "Not enough data yet". You can't edit these numbers. A new version can change or stop what your skill measures; each version's numbers stay with that version.
What counts
The same rules as every number on Trilly: only unchanged copies, never yours or your company's, never an impossible burst. Each person counts once, with their latest result. Read how the numbers work.
