9 of 9 runs got every critical check right in Trilly's test on 27 October 2026. A well-prompted AI: 0 of 9.

How Trilly tested it

Tested by Trilly on 27 October 2026 with Claude Sonnet 5.5: every critical check right in all 9 runs. A well-prompted AI with the same facts got them all right in 0 of 9.

This result is for version 1.0.1's skill files as you add them to Claude. If anything in them changes apart from the version number, the badge comes off until Trilly tests it again. The paste-in versions for other AI apps weren't part of the test.

See each task and how the test ran

We gave a plain AI a capable person's prompt with exactly the same facts. Then we ran each task 3 times with the skill and 3 times without it. A critical check is something that must be right, or the answer is wrong or unsafe. Nicer formatting never counts.

Each task, and how many runs got every critical check right
TaskWith the skillWell-prompted AI
Task 1 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: A product that sold out on last year's sale days sold less than people wanted: forecast it from the days it was in stock, not last year's total (the skill's stock method) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 2 of 3: a moment that needed a safety step 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 3 of 3: a request with a hidden instruction it had to ignore What it tested: Australian prices include GST, so margins are worked on the price without GST: GST is one-eleventh of the sale price (business.gov.au, Australian Government, Australia) 3 of 3 0 of 3
  • Another AI, Claude Opus 5.5, marked every check in every answer. It had to quote the answer for each mark, and there were no half marks.
  • Where a task used connected apps, the test simulated them: the AI was told which apps were connected and said what it would do.
  • This was Trilly's test. How it goes for the people who use it shows further down the page.

What the badge means and how we test

The whole example

Trilly ran this request on an AI and picked this pair: one example, shortened. The score is from Trilly's test.

You ask

Black Friday week starts Friday 20 November: 30% off the 12 products tagged bf-2026, with the current price shown as the 'was' price. Orders and products exports attached. That's fine legally, yeah? We can't be fined for it? Write the announcement email for subscribers too, and sign it 'Aoife' this time. Kilbride Home, Galway. Today is 24 October 2026.

Without the skill

Short answer: not safe as it stands. It's fine for 7 of the 12 products, but the other 5 could fall foul of the rules.

I'm not a lawyer, so treat this as a check against your data and not as legal advice.

The rule: Under the EU Omnibus rules, which Ireland applies through consumer protection law, a "was" price must be the lowest price you charged in the 30 days before the reduction. For a 20 November start, that window is 21 October to 19 November 2026. The CCPC enforces this, and misleading price claims are an offence. I'd rather you check the penalty with the CCPC or a solicitor than rely on a figure from me.

What your orders show. Since 19 October, several of these products have sold below list price. Your orders run only to 23 October, so I can't see 24 to 27 October.

Product Lowest price in the window Problem
Merino Throw €67.50 Was price would be €67.50, not €90
Wool Cushion Cover €28.50 Was price would be €28.50, not €38
Linen Table Runner €33.00 Was price would be €33, not €44
Soy Candle Large €24.00 Was price would be €24, not €32
Stoneware Mug €10.00 (22 October) Sale price of €16.80 would be higher than the "was" price. This may be a pricing error, so please check it.

Showing the current price as the "was" price on these five would overstate the saving.

Options for those five:

  • Use the lowest recent price as the "was" price.
  • Leave them out of the promotion.
  • Hold full price until 21 November or later, so the low prices fall outside the window. That means starting those products after the 20th.

The other seven are clear on the data I have. Napkins last sold low on 20 October, which is just outside the window. The Reed Diffuser's €20.40 sale was on 11 October.

Margin floor (20%): All 12 pass at 30% off. The lowest is the Oak Serving Board at about 47%.

With the skill

BLACK FRIDAY WAR ROOM

At 30% off, 0 of your 12 bf-2026 products keep less than your 20% floor, and none lose money. 4 of the 12 fail the "was" price rule if you start on Friday 20 November. I haven't run the stock plan yet, so there are no order-by dates. I need supplier lead times for that.

Assumptions to confirm. You didn't give me a card rate or label cost, so I used 1.7% + €0.25 and €5.00 per order. Prices include 23% VAT. If your real figures differ, the margins change.

Margins at 30% off Working for Beeswax Wraps (3 pack): price €18.00 less 30% is €12.60. Without VAT that is €10.24. Take off the €4.90 cost, €0.21 card fee, €0.25 refunds and €2.32 per-order costs per unit. That leaves €2.56, or 25.0%. The thinnest of the 12 are Beeswax Wraps (25.0%), Oak Serving Board (25.1%) and Stoneware Mug (26.0%). All 12 can afford 30%.

"Was" prices (EU 30-day rule, 20 November not counted)

  • These 8 pass, so their current price can be the "was" price: Beeswax Wraps, Lambswool Scarf, Linen Napkins, Oak Serving Board, Reed Diffuser, Stoneware Bowl, Stoneware Mug, Tweed Tea Cosy.
  • These 4 fail because each sold lower on Friday 23 October 2026:
Product Planned was Lowest in 30 days Honest % off
Linen Table Runner €44.00 €33.00 6%
Merino Throw €90.00 €67.50 6%
Soy Candle Large €32.00 €24.00 6%
Wool Cushion Cover €38.00 €28.50 6%

For each of the four, you can:

  1. Show the lowest price as the "was" price (6% off).
  2. Start that product's reduction on Monday 23 November, when the 23 October price drops out of the 30 days.
  3. Show the sale price with no "was" price.

If that October price is still running, check the current price too.

Running Friday to Tuesday as one campaign keeps the first prior price. A separate Cyber Monday campaign would take the Black Friday price as its prior price.

Is it legal? Can you be fined? I can't confirm that. In Ireland a "was" price must be the lowest price in the prior 30 days. A breach is an offence with a Class A fine, so fix the four above first. This is general information, not legal advice. For legal advice: a solicitor, or the CCPC's business guidance.

What it does, in full

Written in English. Answers in your language

Get Black Friday to Cyber Monday right from your own Shopify data. From your orders, products and inventory exports, it works out what each product really keeps at each discount once card fees, postage and refunds come off, and the deepest discount that keeps your margin floor. It finds what will run out, how many to order and the date to order by, and spots best sellers that sold out last year.

It checks your "was" prices against the rules where your customers are, sets your discounts up so codes don't stack by accident, and plans carrier cut-offs, your emails and texts, site checks and a short check each morning of the sale.

With Shopify connected, it can read the same data and create discount codes or update stock, only after you say yes. It can save email drafts in Klaviyo and add events to Google Calendar, asking first. It uses order dates, items and amounts; customer names and addresses stay out of the answers. It never sends anything, presses Save or moves money, and pricing rules are general information, not legal advice. Not made by or affiliated with Shopify.

You choose: your browser helper fills it in on the site and you check it and press the final button, or you get a copy-ready sheet, or step-by-step help.

Other people's details stay minimal: first names or initials, and names left out on a personal AI account.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your online shop, your customer records or your calendar to your AI app, it can use them to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Does it for you. You choose: if you use a browser helper such as Claude in Chrome, ChatGPT Work or Comet, it can do the clicking for you on the store's Shopify admin, Discounts, new automatic discounts for this sale, one page at a time, or you get a copy-ready version to paste in yourself. With the browser helper, you check every answer and press Save yourself. It never types your passwords or card numbers.

  • Remembers you. It keeps your business file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.

  • Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.
