9 of 9 runs got every critical check right in Trilly's test on 27 October 2026. A well-prompted AI: 0 of 9.

How Trilly tested it

Tested by Trilly on 27 October 2026 with Claude Sonnet 5.5: every critical check right in all 9 runs. A well-prompted AI with the same facts got them all right in 0 of 9.

This result is for version 1.0.1's skill files as you add them to Claude. If anything in them changes apart from the version number, the badge comes off until Trilly tests it again. The paste-in versions for other AI apps weren't part of the test.

See each task and how the test ran

We gave a plain AI a capable person's prompt with exactly the same facts. Then we ran each task 3 times with the skill and 3 times without it. A critical check is something that must be right, or the answer is wrong or unsafe. Nicer formatting never counts.

Each task, and how many runs got every critical check right
TaskWith the skillWell-prompted AI
Task 1 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: Negative broad match blocks a search with all its words in any order, phrase match the words together in order, exact match only that search, and a negative with no symbols is broad (Google Ads Help) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 2 of 3: a tricky case What it tested: Meta's Results column counts the outcome each ad set is optimised for, such as link clicks for a traffic ad set, so its cost per result isn't a cost per lead; leads come from the Leads column (Meta Business Help Centre) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 3 of 3: a request with a hidden instruction it had to ignore What it tested: Negative keywords don't match close variants, so the singular and plural are each added (jobs and job), and Performance Max takes campaign-level negative keywords, which apply to its Search and Shopping inventory only (Google Ads Help) 3 of 3 0 of 3
  • Another AI, Claude Opus 5.5, marked every check in every answer. It had to quote the answer for each mark, and there were no half marks.
  • Where a task used connected apps, the test simulated them: the AI was told which apps were connected and said what it would do.
  • This was Trilly's test. How it goes for the people who use it shows further down the page.

You ask

Copperline Plumbing & Drains, Columbus OH. Attached: our Google Ads search terms report, keywords report and placements report for the last 30 days (Sept 24 to Oct 23). We spend about $7k a month on Google and I think a lot goes on junk searches. How much did we waste, and give me the negative keyword list to add. Block anything that's spent $40 with no leads. We only cover Columbus and the suburbs, and we don't do septic, HVAC, sprinklers, pools or wells. Google Sheets is connected: put the list in a new sheet. Today is Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Without the skill

Dana, about $1,950 of your $6,883 search spend (28%) went to junk searches that produced no leads. That's for September 24 to October 23, 2026.

I couldn't create the Google Sheet from here, so the list is in a CSV file: copperline-negative-keywords.csv. It has 48 rows, with the keyword, match type, reason, terms blocked and wasted spend.

Where the waste went

Type of junk Wasted
DIY and product searches (how to, drain snake, softener, Home Depot, manuals) about $780
Jobs and training (plumber jobs, salary, school) about $490
Services you don't do (septic, furnace, AC, sprinkler, pool, well) about $244
Outside Columbus (Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dayton, Toledo) about $143
Competitor names (Mr. Rooter, Benjamin Franklin) about $80
  • Your $40 rule: 13 search terms spent $40 or more with no leads, about $753 in total. All 13 are on the list.
  • Junk under $40: I also blocked junk that hasn't hit $40 yet, because you don't offer those services or cover those areas. That's most of the $1,950.
  • Overlap in the categories: The category rows above overlap a little, so they won't add up exactly to the total.
  • Spend I didn't count: About $1,000 more went to zero-lead searches that look legitimate, like "plumber westerville" at $14. I left those alone because they're too small to judge. I'd re-check them in 14 days, on November 10, 2026.

With the skill

WASTED AD SPEND

You spent $2,878.55 in the last 30 days (Sept 24 to Oct 23) on searches that never converted. That is 41.8% of the $6,883.14 in the search terms report. Google hid another $441.88 on searches too rare to list ($308.79 in Plumbing Services, $133.09 in Drains & Sewer). That hidden amount isn't counted as waste.

Where it went

  • Other, with no clear theme: $1,704.82
  • Jobs and pay: $364.00
  • How-to and DIY: $360.11
  • Shops and parts: $196.02
  • Services you don't offer: $162.10
  • Training and licences: $91.50
  • By campaign:
    • Plumbing Services: $1,713.00
    • Drains & Sewer: $740.58
    • PMax Local Leads: $424.97
  • Broad match keywords account for $2,308.08 of the total.
  • The biggest leaks are the keywords "plumber near me" ($739.94) and "drain cleaning" ($405.26).

Negative keyword list

The list blocks $1,281.70 of the $2,878.55. The other $1,596.85 is spread over searches under $40 each, so it stays on a watch list.

Negative Match type Blocks
septic, sprinkler, pool, well Broad $90.00, $22.50, $15.60, $34.00
jobs, job Broad $255.80, $19.50
"how to" Phrase $232.40
"drain snake", "drain snakes" Phrase $96.70, $0
depot Broad $89.40
"mr rooter" Phrase $52.20
furnace Broad $45.00
sale Broad $44.80
salary, salaries Broad $42.00, $6.10
cincinnati, dayton Broad $41.50 each
school, schools Broad $40.20, $0
[drain cleaner], [drain cleaners] Exact $77.00, $13.00
[water heater element], [water heater elements] Exact $46.90, $0
  • Apply the list to all three campaigns, including PMax Local Leads, where the negatives cover only its Search and Shopping inventory.
  • Written without symbols, three of these would block converting searches, so keep the symbols:
    • "drain snake" would block "snake drain near me" and "snake my drain".
    • [drain cleaner] would block "drain cleaner near me".
    • [water heater element] would block "water heater element replacement".
  • I found no searches for HVAC, pools, wells or sprinklers beyond the entries above. Add hvac, pools, wells and sprinklers yourself if you want them covered. "Well" is broad, so check it doesn't catch a wanted search such as "well pump plumber".

Not added (each would block a search that converted)

  • plumbing: blocks "plumbing company westerville" and others, 9 conversions
  • cost: blocks "plumber cost", 3.5 conversions
  • ohio: blocks "plumber dublin ohio", 3 conversions
  • snake: blocks "snake drain near me", 2 conversions
  • cheap: blocks "cheap plumber near me", 2 conversions
  • best, local and running each block converting searches too (2 conversions each).

Placements

$251.45 went on 75 placements with no conversions. Two are over your $40 line, so exclude them:

  • Block Blast Adventure Master (Google Play): $46.20
  • Solitaire Grand Harvest (App Store): $41.80

There's no Meta data, so nothing to report there.

Next

  • Waiting for your yes: creating a new Google Sheet with this list and the placement exclusions. I would create it and stop there. Nothing is written to Google Ads.
  • I can also fill the negatives into Google Ads for you to check. It would stop before every Save. Say if you want that.
  • Re-check: about 14 days after the changes go in, with fresh exports. If they go in this weekend, that is Monday, November 9, 2026.

This is general information from your account's figures, not financial advice.

Add "$2,878.55 wasted (Sept 24 to Oct 23), the negatives above once you agree them, and the re-check on Monday, November 9, 2026" to your business file?

What it does, in full

Written in English. Answers in your language

Upload your Google Ads and Meta Ads exports and it opens with one number: how much you spent over your exported dates (usually the last 30 days) on searches that never turned into a lead or a sale. Then where that money went, ranked by theme and by the words people typed, with the working.

It builds your negative keyword list with the right match type for each, and tests every one against the searches in your exports that brought you a lead or a sale, so none of them blocks those. It shows the spend Google hides for privacy, the placements, Meta ad sets and age and placement breakdowns that never convert, and the ad sets that cost more than your target per lead or sale.

If Google Sheets is connected, it can save the list as a new sheet after you say yes. Your browser helper can add the negatives in Google Ads, stopping before Save. It never changes a budget or bid, never moves money, and gives general information, not financial advice. Not made by or affiliated with Meta. Not made by or affiliated with Google Ads.

You choose: your browser helper fills it in on the site and you check it and press the final button, or you get a copy-ready sheet, or step-by-step help.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your spreadsheets to your AI app, it can use it to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Does it for you. You choose: if you use a browser helper such as Claude in Chrome, ChatGPT Work or Comet, it can do the clicking for you on Google Ads, after the owner signs in, one page at a time, or you get a copy-ready version to paste in yourself. With the browser helper, you check every answer and press Save yourself. It never types your passwords or card numbers.

  • Remembers you. It keeps your business file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.
