Every version is checked first
When a maker sends a new version, Trilly checks it the same way as the first one, before anyone gets it. The maker's release notes say what changed, and they show in My skills.
Linked or downloaded
- Linked. If you linked your AI to Trilly, it loads the newest checked version, unless the update needs your yes (below). You don't need to do anything.
- Downloaded. A copy you downloaded stays as it is. My skills shows Update ready, and Get the update downloads the new version for your app.
When an update asks for more
Sometimes a new version wants to do more than the one you have. My skills then says This update asks for more, and lists what's new.
- A linked skill keeps using the version you agreed to until you press Agree and update.
- A downloaded copy stays as it is until you download the new one.
You can always see what a skill can reach on its page, under Safety and what it can reach.
Hearing about updates
You choose how you hear about new versions in Settings, then Notifications:
- a notice in Trilly when a skill you use has a new version;
- an email, at most one a day.
Both are on until you turn them off, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Review requests and the email digest stay off until you turn them on.
When a maker retires a skill
A maker can retire a skill. Nobody new can add it, and it gets no more updates, but you keep the last version you had. A linked AI keeps using it, and you can download your copy again from My skills.
When a skill is removed for safety
If a skill breaks our rules, we remove it at once. Linked AI apps stop loading it straight away, nobody can add or download it, and everyone who added it while signed in is told. It goes on our public list of removed skills with the reason.
What changed for you
When a new version changes the apps a skill works with, or its steps, Trilly says so in plain words. The skill's Changes tab shows what changed in how it works, from the files Trilly checked, never the maker's own description.
If you told Trilly the apps you use, My skills and the new-version email also say what the change means for you. For example: "Accounting: MYOB is no longer on its list, so for you those steps are now copy-ready." You also get a notification when an app you use joins or leaves a skill's list.
