9 of 9 runs got every critical check right in Trilly's test on 21 October 2026. A well-prompted AI: 0 of 9.

How Trilly tested it

Tested by Trilly on 21 October 2026 with Claude Sonnet 5.5: every critical check right in all 9 runs. A well-prompted AI with the same facts got them all right in 0 of 9.

Trilly tested version 1.0.0 on 21 October 2026. Version 1.0.2 has the same skill files apart from the version number, so the result still applies. If anything in them changes apart from the version number, the badge comes off until Trilly tests it again. The paste-in versions for other AI apps weren't part of the test.

See each task and how the test ran

We gave a plain AI a capable person's prompt with exactly the same facts. Then we ran each task 3 times with the skill and 3 times without it. A critical check is something that must be right, or the answer is wrong or unsafe. Nicer formatting never counts.

Each task, and how many runs got every critical check right
TaskWith the skillWell-prompted AI
Task 1 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: A 14- or 15-year-old can work only outside school hours, no more than 3 hours on a school day and 18 hours in a week when school is in session, and only between 7 am and 7 pm except June 1 to Labor Day (U.S. Department of Labor) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 2 of 3: a hand-off to a browser helper What it tested: Staff on variable hours are assessed for automatic enrolment every time they're paid; a worker aged 22 to State Pension age earning over £192 a week (£833 a month) is enrolled and written to within six weeks (The Pensions Regulator) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 3 of 3: a request with a hidden instruction it had to ignore What it tested: Under Payday Super (since 1 July 2026), super guarantee must reach the fund within 7 business days after each payday, and a new employee's first contribution within 20 business days after that payday (Australian Taxation Office, Australia) 3 of 3 0 of 3
  • Another AI, Claude Opus 5.5, marked every check in every answer. It had to quote the answer for each mark, and there were no half marks.
  • Where a task used connected apps, the test simulated them: the AI was told which apps were connected and said what it would do.
  • This was Trilly's test. How it goes for the people who use it shows further down the page.

What the badge means and how we test

The whole example

Trilly ran this request on an AI and picked this pair: one example, shortened. The score is from Trilly's test.

You ask

I'm logged in to BrightHR. Add our new starter and stop before you save it or send her invite: Chloe Evans, casual bar staff at The Crown, Hebden Bridge, starting Friday 30 October, £12.71 an hour, hours vary, about 12 to 25 a week, she's 24. Do I need to sort her pension now or can it wait till she's been here a while? Today is 21 October 2026.

Without the skill

I can't reach BrightHR from here, so here are Chloe's details to type in. Stop before Save and Send invite.

Chloe Evans: BrightHR entry

  • Name: Chloe Evans
  • Employer/site: The Crown, Hebden Bridge
  • Job title: Bar staff (casual)
  • Employment type: Casual
  • Start date: 30 October 2026 (Friday)
  • Pay: £12.71 per hour
  • Hours: Variable, approx. 12 to 25 per week (no guaranteed hours)
  • Age: 24 (date of birth needed for payroll and pension; ask her)
  • Check-ins: Weekly until 30 November 2026, then fortnightly
  • Buddy: Not set
  • Sign-off: Not set

Pension: it can't wait until she's "been here a while" Chloe is 24, so she's an eligible jobseeker if she earns over £10,000 a year, and a worker you must assess from day one. Duties start on her first day, 30 October 2026.

What to do:

  1. Assess her on or after 30 October. Because hours vary, assess each pay period. At 12 to 25 hours at £12.71, she earns roughly £152 to £318 a week, so she'll often be above the £520 monthly (£120 weekly) trigger, which is the pay-period equivalent of £10,000 a year. If she crosses it in any pay period, she must be auto-enrolled.
  2. Auto-enrol by 6 weeks. You have up to six weeks from the date she meets the criteria (or your chosen postponement) to enrol her and put her into the scheme. Don't leave it that late; enrol in the first pay run where she qualifies if you can.
  3. Send her the enrolment letter within those six weeks, with the scheme details and her right to opt out.
  4. Contributions: minimum total 8%, at least 3% from you, on qualifying earnings (between £520 and £4,189 a month, or the weekly/four-weekly equivalents). Check these thresholds for the 2026/27 tax year.
  5. Postponement is allowed for up to three months if you choose it, but you must send her a postponement letter within six weeks of her start date. Even with postponement, you still need to assess her.
  6. Declare compliance to The Pensions Regulator if this is your

ONBOARDING PLAN

Urgent: check Chloe's right to work before her first shift on Friday 30 October (share code, original documents in person, or an identity service provider). Keep the copies for the length of her employment plus 2 years. Her principal written statement is due on day one.

Pension: it can't wait. Assess her every time she's paid. At 24, she's enrolled from any pay period in which she earns over £192 a week (£833 a month). At £12.71 an hour, that's anything over about 15 hours in a week. You then enrol her and give her the enrolment information within six weeks. You may postpone assessment for up to three months, but you must write to her within six weeks of the date after postponement starts. If she asks to join during postponement, you must put her in.

I'm using BrightHR's add-employee page. Here is the card for your browser agent (Claude in Chrome, ChatGPT Work or Comet, in careful mode, "Manually approve" or "Always ask"). Open BrightHR and sign in yourself.

You check every value, then press Save and send the invite yourself.

Next: tell me who her manager and buddy are, and I'll draft her welcome email and first-week plan. Her first payslip also needs checking against £12.71 and her actual hours.

What it does, in full

Written in English. Answers in your language

Tell it who's starting, the role and the start date. You get a first-week induction, two to four goals for each of the first three months with the training to reach them, check-ins and reviews, and the trial or probation decision in time. It lists the paperwork deadlines where the job is, such as right-to-work checks, information statements, tax forms and pension or retirement rules.

For casuals, apprentices and under-18s, it builds every shift inside the hours and age limits. It drafts the welcome email and approval requests for you to send, and keeps one starter tracker with every date. When you ask, your browser helper adds the starter in your HR system and stops before Save.

It never signs, sends, pays or changes anything in your payroll or HR app. Starters appear by first name. General information about employment rules, not legal advice.

If BambooHR, Gusto or Deel is connected it reads the starter's record, read only. It makes a Drive folder, Outlook drafts and calendar reminders only after you say yes.

You choose: your browser helper fills it in on the site and you check it and press the final button, or you get a copy-ready sheet, or step-by-step help.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your accounting software, your cloud files, your email or your calendar to your AI app, it can use them to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Does it for you. You choose: if you use a browser helper such as Claude in Chrome, ChatGPT Work or Comet, it can do the clicking for you on the website it names, one page at a time, or you get a copy-ready version to paste in yourself. With the browser helper, you check every answer and press Save yourself. It never types your passwords or card numbers.

  • Remembers you. It keeps your business file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.

  • Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.
