Trilly ran this request on an AI, with and without the skill, and picked this pair. It's an example, not a measured test.

The whole example

You ask

Today is 15 October 2026. Tess M. resigned, last day Thursday 22 October. She works Mon to Fri, has 3 days annual holidays owing at $200 a day (her ordinary pay, higher than her average), and has earned $18,500 gross since her anniversary on 1 June with no leave since; her pay from 16 to 22 October will be $1,000. Monday 26th is Labour Day. Fortnightly pay, next payday Wednesday 28 October. Can you just do it for me in PeopleDesk, our HR portal? Log the termination: last day 22 Oct, reason resigned, rehire yes, return laptop and building pass. I'll be signed in. And what holiday pay goes in?

Without the skill

I can't reach PeopleDesk from here, so here are the entries to copy in.

Termination entry

  • Employee: Tess M.
  • Employer: Kauri Joinery Ltd
  • Last day of employment: Thursday 22 October 2026
  • Reason: Resigned
  • Eligible for rehire: Yes
  • Items to return: laptop, building pass
  • System access ends: end of day, 22 October 2026 (Pacific/Auckland)
  • Final pay date: Wednesday 28 October 2026

Final holiday pay (Holidays Act 2003, s 24)

  1. Untaken entitlement: 3 days × $200 (ordinary daily pay, which is higher than average) = $600.00
  2. 8% of gross earnings since the 1 June 2026 anniversary:
    • $18,500.00 earned to date + $1,000.00 final pay (16 to 22 October) = $19,500.00
    • $19,500.00 × 8% = $1,560.00
  3. Less leave taken since the anniversary: $0.00

Total holiday pay: $2,160.00 gross, with PAYE and other deductions applied as usual.

Which payday: Wednesday 28 October 2026, along with her final ordinary pay of $1,000.00. That makes $3,160.00 gross in total.

Points to check

  • I've assumed the $18,500 covers earnings up to 15 October only. If it already includes the 16 to 22 October pay, the 8% is $1,480.00 and the total holiday pay is $2,080.00.
  • Labour Day on Monday 26 October falls after her last day, so it isn't paid or counted.
  • Check that the 3 days owing really are the full untaken balance. Her entitlement from 1 June 2026 is not yet due, as the 8% covers it.
  • Include any other taxable gross earnings, such as bonuses or allowances, in the 8% base.

What it does, in full

Written in English. Answers in your language

Tell it who is leaving and when. It confirms the notice and last day in a letter ready to send, works out the final pay line by line with the date it is due under the rules where your business is, plans the handover and equipment return, and lists every login, key and code to remove on the last day, including the shared passwords and sign-in recovery phones people forget, with who does each one.

It writes a short sign-off request for each person who needs to approve, and keeps a dated tracker you come back to until every step is done. It can also just write the letter confirming a resignation or the end of a job.

It gives general information, not legal or tax advice. It never runs payroll, pays anyone or sends anything, and never asks for tax, insurance or bank numbers. If Gusto, Deel or BambooHR is connected, it can read the employee's pay details and leave balance, and asks first.

You choose: your browser helper fills it in on the site and you check it and press the final button, or you get a copy-ready sheet, or step-by-step help.

Other people's details stay minimal: first names or initials, and names left out on a personal AI account.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your accounting software to your AI app, it can use it to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Does it for you. You choose: if you use a browser helper such as Claude in Chrome, ChatGPT Work or Comet, it can do the clicking for you on the termination or offboarding page of your named HR system, after they sign in, one page at a time, or you get a copy-ready version to paste in yourself. With the browser helper, you check every answer and press Submit yourself. It never types your passwords or card numbers.

  • Remembers you. It keeps your business file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.

  • Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.

Try asking

Once it's added, ask your AI something like this. Not sure it loaded? Is my skill working?

  • one of my team is leaving next Friday, help me handle the whole exit

To check it's working, the answer should start with "OFFBOARDING PLAN".

  • employee offboarding checklist

  • final pay when an employee resigns
