Example, shortened, from this skill's page. Someone asks their AI: Today is Wednesday 21 October 2026. Tom (warehouse, Manchester) raised a grievance: his shift… Staff Complaints and Grievances answers: Stage: meeting arranged. Next: Jo moves the meeting to Wednesday 28 October 2026 at 10am and sends Tom the letter below by end of today. Send letter to Tom: Wednesday 21 October 2026 (due); Tell investigator and rep of new date: Thursday 22 October 2026 (due); Meeting with Tom: Wednesday 28 October 2026 (due).

Show the answer

9 of 9 runs got every critical check right in Trilly's test on 21 October 2026. A well-prompted AI: 0 of 9.

How Trilly tested it

Tested by Trilly on 21 October 2026 with Claude Sonnet 5.5: every critical check right in all 9 runs. A well-prompted AI with the same facts got them all right in 0 of 9.

Trilly tested version 1.0.0 on 21 October 2026. Version 1.0.2 has the same skill files apart from the version number, so the result still applies. If anything in them changes apart from the version number, the badge comes off until Trilly tests it again. The paste-in versions for other AI apps weren't part of the test.

See each task and how the test ran

We gave a plain AI a capable person's prompt with exactly the same facts. Then we ran each task 3 times with the skill and 3 times without it. A critical check is something that must be right, or the answer is wrong or unsafe. Nicer formatting never counts.

Each task, and how many runs got every critical check right
TaskWith the skillWell-prompted AI
Task 1 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: Time limits for filing an EEOC charge (180 days, or 300 where a state or local agency enforces a similar law) generally aren't extended by an internal grievance, and harassment counts from the last incident (EEOC) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 2 of 3: a tricky case What it tested: The 6-month minus 1 day tribunal time limit applies only to a problem dated 1 October 2026 or later; a problem dated earlier keeps 3 months minus 1 day (a problem on 30 September 2026 has a limit ending 29 December 2026), and a grievance doesn't pause it (Acas) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 3 of 3: a request with a hidden instruction it had to ignore What it tested: In Ontario, the worker who complained and the alleged harasser (if a worker) must both be told in writing the results of the investigation and any corrective action (Occupational Health and Safety Act, section 32.0.7) 3 of 3 0 of 3
  • Another AI, Claude Opus 5.5, marked every check in every answer. It had to quote the answer for each mark, and there were no half marks.
  • Where a task used connected apps, the test simulated them: the AI was told which apps were connected and said what it would do.
  • This was Trilly's test. How it goes for the people who use it shows further down the page.

You ask

Today is Wednesday 21 October 2026. Tom (warehouse, Manchester) raised a grievance: his shift manager mocks his age, the last time on 30 September. His meeting is tomorrow, Thursday 22 October, at 10am. His union rep can't make it and Tom has asked for Wednesday 28 October at 10am. Can I refuse? Tom also mentioned a tribunal, but the time limit went up to 6 months this month, so there's no rush, right? Write my reply to Tom, and call us 'Hartley's' in it, not Hartley Foods Ltd.

Without the skill

Can you refuse? No. Under the statutory right to be accompanied (Employment Relations Act 1999, s10), if Tom's chosen companion can't attend, you must postpone to a reasonable alternative time he proposes, provided it's within 5 working days after the original date. Wednesday 28 October is the fourth working day after 22 October, so you should agree to it.

Tribunal time limit: I wouldn't say "no rush" to Tom, and I wouldn't comment on his time limits at all.

  • I can't verify the commencement date or transitional rules for the 6-month change, so check the current position on gov.uk or with your legal adviser.
  • Age discrimination claims run from the act complained of, or the end of any continuing conduct. Early conciliation through Acas pauses the clock.
  • Telling him there's no rush could be seen as advice and could backfire. Signpost Acas and independent advice instead.

Subject: Your grievance meeting – moved to Wednesday 28 October 2026

Dear Tom,

Thank you for letting me know your union representative can't attend tomorrow. I'm happy to move your grievance meeting so that they can be with you.

The meeting will now take place on Wednesday 28 October 2026 at 10:00am at [location]. Please let me know if that changes for you or your representative. There's no need to attend tomorrow.

Hartley's takes concerns about age-related comments seriously. The meeting is a chance for you to explain what has happened, including the incident on 30 September, and what outcome you'd like. Please bring any notes or dates that would help.

A few other things:

  • If anything further happens before the meeting, tell me straight away.
  • I'll check in with you within 3 working days of the meeting.
  • You'll receive the outcome in writing, and you'll have 5 working days from receiving it to appeal if you're not satisfied.
  • If you want independent advice, Acas (0300 123 1100) offers free, impartial guidance.

Kind regards,

Jo Patel People Team, Hartley Foods Ltd

GRIEVANCE CASE FILE

Stage: meeting arranged. Next: Jo moves the meeting to Wednesday 28 October 2026 at 10am and sends Tom the letter below by end of today.

Can you refuse? No. Tom's union rep is a permitted companion (Employment Relations Act 1999, s.10). If the companion can't attend and the worker proposes a reasonable alternative time within 5 working days of the proposed date, you must postpone. Counting from Friday 23 October, that window runs to Thursday 29 October, so Wednesday 28 October qualifies. Refusing also risks an uplift of up to 25% on any later tribunal award for not following the Acas Code.

Tribunal: not right. The 6-month limit applies only to problems dated 1 October 2026 or later. Tom's last incident was 30 September 2026, so the old limit of 3 months minus 1 day applies. It ends at 11:59pm on Tuesday 29 December 2026. The grievance doesn't pause it; only notifying Acas for early conciliation within the limit does. If anything further happened on or after 1 October, the limit for that may differ. This is general information, not legal advice. Check with Acas (0300 123 1100) or a lawyer.

"Hi Tom,

Thank you for raising your concerns. We've moved your meeting to Wednesday 28 October 2026 at 10am so your union rep can come with you. Please tell me by Friday 23 October if that time doesn't work or if you need any adjustments. What you share is kept to the people who need it to look into this. Treating anyone worse for raising a concern isn't allowed.

What it does, in full

Written in English. Answers in your language

Share the complaint and your policy. It writes down each allegation as it was made. It works out what the law and your policy ask for where your business is. Then it plans the investigation, with a date for every step.

It drafts the invitations, with the right to bring someone. It turns interview notes into statements each person checks. It builds an evidence table, and the investigator decides. It writes the outcome letters, with reasons and how to appeal. It gives, as dates, the time the staff member has to make a claim. And it keeps a tracker up to a check-in months later.

It can read the complaint in Gmail or Outlook. It can save drafts in Outlook, holds in your calendar and the case file in Google Drive or SharePoint, each only after you say yes.

Use first names or initials, and leave names out on a personal AI account. It never decides the outcome, sends letters or invites anyone. It gives general information, not legal advice.

You choose: it reads your connected apps and, where your AI app's connection can make changes, changes things only in Outlook, Google Calendar, Google Drive and SharePoint, after your yes each time, or you paste things in and get copy-ready text, or step-by-step help.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your email, your calendar or your cloud files to your AI app, it can use them to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Remembers you. It keeps your business file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.

  • Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.
