Example, shortened, from this skill's page. Someone asks their AI: Logging for Tom, 22, Melbourne, Victoria. Learner permit issued September 3, 2026. His log says… Learner Driver Logbook and Test Planner answers: Tom has 21 h 45 min logged. At 22 he has no required hours and no night hours in Victoria. The earliest drive test date is 3 March 2027, set by the 6-month permit period. 24 October 2026: 90 (minutes).

Trilly ran this request on an AI, with and without the skill, and picked this pair. It's an example, not a measured test.

The whole example

You ask

Logging for Tom, 22, Melbourne, Victoria. Learner permit issued September 3, 2026. His log says 20 h 15 min so far. New: Oct 24, 10:00-11:30 am, with his sister, motorway entry. We can do 3 hours a week. Can you just add 10 hours so we get to the 120 hours faster? His dad can sign for the night ones. When can he do his drive test? Today is October 27, 2026.

Without the skill

I can't add 10 hours that weren't driven. A log has to record real supervised drives, and padding it would be false and could cost Tom his licence. Real hours are the only way to get there.

Log entry (copy in)

  • Date: 24 October 2026
  • Time: 10:00 am to 11:30 am
  • Duration: 1 h 30 min
  • Day/night: Day (0 h night)
  • Supervisor: [sister's full name, licence number, signature]
  • Skills practised: Motorway entry (merging, speed matching, gap selection)
  • Road/weather conditions: [fill in]

Updated running total

  • 20 h 15 min + 1 h 30 min = 21 h 45 min
  • Still needed: 98 h 15 min of the 120 hours

Night hours: Tom's dad can sign for night drives only if he actually supervises them. I don't know how many night hours Tom has, so check that he reaches the 20 night hours within the 120.

Drive test timing at 3 hours a week

  • 98.25 ÷ 3 ≈ 33 weeks, so he'd hit 120 hours around mid-June 2027 (about 14 June 2027), if you drive every week.
  • Separately, Victoria has a minimum time holding a learner permit. For his permit issued 3 September 2026, a 12-month rule would mean 3 September 2027 at the earliest. That would then be the limiting date, not the hours.

Please check: the 120-hour log requirement in Victoria applies to learners under 21, and Tom is 22. His requirements may be different (possibly no log or a different minimum period). Confirm with VicRoads before booking, because that could make his test date much earlier.

If you want to get there faster legitimately, you could add an extra drive or two a week. Each extra 3 hours a week would cut about 11 weeks off the hours target.

LEARNER DRIVER PLAN

Tom has 21 h 45 min logged. At 22 he has no required hours and no night hours in Victoria. The earliest drive test date is 3 March 2027, set by the 6-month permit period.

Date Minutes Day or night Supervisor Worked on
24 October 2026 90 Day Sister Motorway entry

I can't add 10 hours that didn't happen. The log has to be true, and a supervisor signs only for drives they supervised, so his dad can't sign for night drives he wasn't in the car for. Tom also doesn't need to reach 120 hours, so there's nothing to catch up on.

Rules used (VicRoads and Youth Central, checked 27 October 2026, check before you book):

  • Learners aged 21 or over have no minimum hours and no log.
  • A learner aged 21 to under 25 must hold the permit continuously for 6 months. 3 September 2026 plus 6 months is 3 March 2027.
  • The Hazard Perception Test must be passed before the drive test.

Still to work on: motorway merging and exiting, night, rain and heavy traffic. Want a three-question check on Victoria's rules?

Next two weeks: at 3 hours a week, I'd plan two or three drives of 45 to 90 minutes each week, starting with motorway merging and then night and rain. Tell me his free times and I'll set the dates. Each drive gets a "log this drive" note.

Tests:

  1. Pass the Hazard Perception Test, which can be done any time before the drive test.
  2. Complete 6 months on the permit, on 3 March 2027.
  3. Book the drive test with VicRoads. Fees are figures to check.

Written in English. Answers in your language

Tell it where the learner lives, their age, the permit date and the drives. It adds each drive to a day and night logbook, counts a drive logged twice once, leaves out drives from before the permit, and shows the hours left and the earliest test date with the working.

It looks up the rules for the learner's place and names the authority and the date it was checked. It covers California and New York, Great Britain, Ontario, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and the ACT, and gives New Zealand's learner period and age. For any other place it logs the drives and points you to your licensing authority. It plans two weeks of practice around your free times and says why the drives run in that order. If you ask, it asks three questions on your place's rules and gives each answer after you try. If the learner writes a line on how a drive went, it asks what they would try next time.

It never says a learner is ready or safe to drive, never pads hours or logs a drive that didn't happen, and never signs for a supervisor. It books nothing and pays nothing: for a test it fills in a card, and your own browser helper can fill the official booking form up to the confirm button, which you press. The official logbook or app stays the legal record.

You choose: your browser helper fills it in on the site and you check it and press the final button, or you get a copy-ready sheet, or step-by-step help.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your calendar to your AI app, it can use it to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Does it for you. You choose: if you use a browser helper such as Claude in Chrome, ChatGPT Work or Comet, it can do the clicking for you on the website it names, one page at a time, or you get a copy-ready version to paste in yourself. The browser helper stops and asks you before anything is sent or changed, and never types your passwords or card numbers.

  • Remembers you. It keeps your study file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.

  • Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.

To check it's working, the answer should start with "LEARNER DRIVER PLAN".
