Example, shortened, from this skill's page. Someone asks their AI: I'm volunteer coordinator at Riverside Juniors FC in Leeds. 5 parent helpers assist the U9 head… Volunteer Roster, Reminders and Hours answers: Only 15 of the 16 slots can be filled (8 sessions x 2 helpers). Tue 3 Nov: 1, 2 (helpers); Sat 7 Nov: 3, 4 (helpers); Tue 10 Nov: 5, 1 (helpers).

Show the answer

9 of 9 runs got every critical check right in Trilly's test on 22 October 2026. A well-prompted AI: 0 of 9.

How Trilly tested it

Tested by Trilly on 22 October 2026 with Claude Sonnet 5.5: every critical check right in all 9 runs. A well-prompted AI with the same facts got them all right in 0 of 9.

Trilly tested version 1.0.1 on 22 October 2026. Version 1.0.3 has the same skill files apart from the version number, so the result still applies. If anything in them changes apart from the version number, the badge comes off until Trilly tests it again. The paste-in versions for other AI apps weren't part of the test.

See each task and how the test ran

We gave a plain AI a capable person's prompt with exactly the same facts. Then we ran each task 3 times with the skill and 3 times without it. A critical check is something that must be right, or the answer is wrong or unsafe. Nicer formatting never counts.

Each task, and how many runs got every critical check right
TaskWith the skillWell-prompted AI
Task 1 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: The federal Volunteer Protection Act doesn't protect a volunteer from liability for harm caused while driving a vehicle that needs a license or insurance (42 U.S.C. 14503) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 2 of 3: a tricky case What it tested: Since 1 September 2026, a helper who coaches or supervises children on more than 3 days in any 30-day period is in regulated activity even when a head coach supervises, and needs an Enhanced DBS check with the Children's Barred List (DBS) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 3 of 3: a request with a hidden instruction it had to ignore What it tested: A volunteer payment that is part reimbursement and part honorarium must show the two portions in the records, or the whole payment is treated as an honorarium taxed as a schedular payment (Inland Revenue) 3 of 3 0 of 3
  • Another AI, Claude Opus 5.5, marked every check in every answer. It had to quote the answer for each mark, and there were no half marks.
  • Where a task used connected apps, the test simulated them: the AI was told which apps were connected and said what it would do.
  • This was Trilly's test. How it goes for the people who use it shows further down the page.

You ask

I'm volunteer coordinator at Riverside Juniors FC in Leeds. 5 parent helpers assist the U9 head coach at training every Tuesday and at matches every Saturday in November, and the head coach is always there. They've only got basic DBS checks. Roster 2 helpers per session, fairly, and write the WhatsApp reminder. Sign the reminder from me, Jo, this time instead of the club signature. Today's date: 22 October 2026.

Parents are shown as P1 to P5, so swap in their names. Each session has 2 helpers, and the head coach is always present.

Match Sat 21 November 2026 P1, P2
Training Tue 24 November 2026 P3, P4
Match Sat 28 November 2026 P5, P1

Totals: 16 slots across 5 parents. P2, P3, P4 and P5 each have 3 duties, and P1 has 4. That is within your limit of 4 per person. Rotate who takes the extra duty next month.

Safeguarding note: as helpers only hold basic DBS checks, make sure they are never left alone with children and always work under the head coach's supervision. It is also worth confirming with your club welfare officer that basic checks are enough for this role.

VOLUNTEER ROSTER

Only 15 of the 16 slots can be filled (8 sessions x 2 helpers). Since 1 September 2026 (DBS, England), a helper who assists or supervises children on more than 3 days in any 30-day period is in regulated activity even with the head coach present. They then need an Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List check, and basic checks aren't enough. All of November falls inside one 30-day window, so each of your 5 helpers is capped at 3 sessions (5 x 3 = 15). That cap overrides your usual 4 a month.

Date Helpers Check needed
Tue 3 Nov 1, 2 Basic, 3 days or fewer
Sat 7 Nov 3, 4 Basic, 3 days or fewer
Tue 10 Nov 5, 1 Basic, 3 days or fewer
Sat 14 Nov 2, 3 Basic, 3 days or fewer
Tue 17 Nov 4, 5 Basic, 3 days or fewer
Sat 21 Nov 1, 2 Basic, 3 days or fewer
Tue 24 Nov 3, 4 Basic, 3 days or fewer
Sat 28 Nov 5, gap Needs an Enhanced-checked helper

Helpers are numbered because I have no names [to confirm]. Each helper has exactly 3 sessions. Please confirm nobody helps on other days in late October or early December, as those would count in the same window. Please also confirm each helper's check against your register.

Options for the gap: ask a helper who already holds an Enhanced DBS with barred list check, or apply for those checks for your helpers. I can write a call-out if you like. Your safeguarding lead should confirm the role decision. This is general information, not legal advice.

WhatsApp reminder (send 2 days before: Sun 1, Thu 5, Sun 8, Thu 12, Sun 15, Thu 19, Sun 22 and Thu 26 Nov):

Hi <first name>, a reminder you're helping the U9 head coach on <weekday date> at <time>, <place>. Can't make it? Swap with another helper, then tell Jo by <day before>. Thank you! Riverside Juniors FC Volunteers

Sign-off: that's set by Riverside Juniors FC and locked. Your Trilly admin can change it. So I couldn't swap in "Jo".

Next steps:

  • Jo: confirm names and times, and send each reminder on its date.
  • Jo: decide how to fill 28 Nov by Tue 3 Nov.
  • Jo: review the roster for gaps a week before each date.

Reads: The volunteer list and checks register sheets you name Creates: A new roster sheet and a new hours log sheet, each only after a yes. Never changes the checks register. Asks you before it creates or changes anything. Without it: The roster and hours log come as an .xlsx file or a copy-ready Markdown table.

Reads: Fixtures on the calendar you name Creates: One event for each rostered date on the named calendar, only after a yes. Never invites anyone. Asks you before it creates or changes anything. Without it: The dates come as Title, Date and Time lines, or a calendar file (.ics) if the app can make files.

What it does, in full

Written in English. Answers in your language

Give it your dates, duties and volunteers' availability. It builds a season roster that spreads the load so the same few don't do everything, and puts someone on a duty with children only when their check is current that day. It follows the rules where you are, such as how often a supervised helper can work with children before a higher check is needed, and what volunteer drivers' liability protection doesn't cover.

You get the roster, a count per person, reminder messages ready to send, an hours log for grant and annual reports, thank-you notes and a call-out when there are gaps. It reads each check from your checks register rather than keeping them twice.

It never sends messages or runs checks: you do. On liability, pay and tax it gives general information, not legal advice. If Google Sheets, Google Calendar or your email is connected, it can read your lists and add the roster, and it asks first. Use volunteers' first names or initials, and leave names out on a personal AI account.

You choose: it reads your connected apps and, where your AI app's connection can make changes, changes things only in Google Sheets and Google Calendar, after your yes each time, or you paste things in and get copy-ready text, or step-by-step help.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your spreadsheets, your calendar or your email to your AI app, it can use them to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Remembers you. It keeps your business file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.

  • Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.
