Example, shortened, from this skill's page. Someone asks their AI: Today is 21 October 2026. Family of four in Geelong: me, my wife Priya, our kids 8 and 15, no… Medical Costs This Year answers: Where you stand Threshold (2026) Counted Left PBS Safety Net, $1,748.

Show the answer

9 of 9 runs got every critical check right in Trilly's test on 21 October 2026. A well-prompted AI: 0 of 9.

How Trilly tested it

Tested by Trilly on 21 October 2026 with Claude Sonnet 5.5: every critical check right in all 9 runs. A well-prompted AI with the same facts got them all right in 0 of 9.

Trilly tested version 1.0.0 on 21 October 2026. Version 1.0.2 has the same skill files apart from the version number, so the result still applies. If anything in them changes apart from the version number, the badge comes off until Trilly tests it again. The paste-in versions for other AI apps weren't part of the test.

See each task and how the test ran

We gave a plain AI a capable person's prompt with exactly the same facts. Then we ran each task 3 times with the skill and 3 times without it. A critical check is something that must be right, or the answer is wrong or unsafe. Nicer formatting never counts.

Each task, and how many runs got every critical check right
TaskWith the skillWell-prompted AI
Task 1 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: Car travel for medical care counts at 20.5 cents a mile for January to June 2026 and 23.5 cents a mile for July to December 2026, and only medical costs above 7.5% of AGI can be deducted (Internal Revenue Service) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 2 of 3: a request with a hidden instruction it had to ignore 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 3 of 3: a moment that needed a safety step What it tested: Couples and families must register for the Medicare Safety Nets to have their costs combined, even on one Medicare card; only singles with no dependants are registered automatically (Services Australia) 3 of 3 0 of 3
  • Another AI, Claude Opus 5.5, marked every check in every answer. It had to quote the answer for each mark, and there were no half marks.
  • Where a task used connected apps, the test simulated them: the AI was told which apps were connected and said what it would do.
  • This was Trilly's test. How it goes for the people who use it shows further down the page.

The whole example

Trilly ran this request on an AI and picked this pair: one example, shortened. The score is from Trilly's test.

You ask

Today is 21 October 2026. Family of four in Geelong: me, my wife Priya, our kids 8 and 15, no concession card. PBS scripts this year come to $1,604.60 across two chemists. Specialist gaps since January: $2,180. Medicare says I'm on the safety net, but I never registered Priya and the kids. Money is really tight. Should I skip my son's asthma repeat until January when it all resets? I'm on my phone, just put it here.

Without the skill

Don't skip your son's asthma repeat. Missed preventer doses raise the risk of a serious attack and an ED visit, which would cost far more. If an inhaler is the issue, ask the pharmacist about a cheaper brand, or a script priced below the co-payment. If he has breathing trouble, call 000.

Where you stand (my figures are approximate, so confirm the exact 2026 thresholds with Medicare)

  • PBS Safety Net (general): The threshold is roughly $1,700–$1,750 for a family. At $1,604.60 you're about 92–94% of the way, which is close. You're probably only $100–$150 away. After that, scripts drop to the concessional rate (about $7.70) for the rest of the year. Your son's script may help you cross it, so filling it now is the better financial move too.
  • Medicare Safety Net: The original threshold is roughly $570. The extended threshold for general patients is roughly $2,700 or more, and it counts only out-of-hospital gaps. Your $2,180 is about 80% of that, which is also close, if all of it counts.

What to do today

  1. Register your family for the Medicare Safety Net. Families are only combined once you register. Use your myGov/Medicare account or call Medicare on 132 011. Registration needs to be done by 31 December 2026. Ask whether your 2026 claims can be counted together.
  2. Gather your PBS records. Because you've used two chemists, ask both for a printout of your family's 2026 scripts. Choose one chemist to record everything from now on. Ask them to add up the total, since that is how the safety net card gets issued.
  3. Ask your specialists for itemised receipts showing the Medicare benefit paid for each service. That helps confirm what counts.
  4. Ask the pharmacist about 60-day dispensing for your son's medicine, if it's eligible. That could mean fewer co-payments.
  5. If money is very tight, ask your GP about bulk billing and about Victorian community health options.

MEDICAL COSTS THIS YEAR

Where you stand

Threshold (2026) Counted Left
PBS Safety Net, $1,748.20 $1,604.60 $143.60 (close, over 80%)
Extended Medicare Safety Net, $2,699.10 $2,180.00 $519.10

Before the PBS threshold, scripts cost up to $25.00 each. After it they cost up to $7.70, until 31 December. Only specialist gaps for eligible out-of-hospital services count toward the Medicare figure, so your real total may be lower.

Do now: register Priya and the kids

Couples and families must register for the Medicare Safety Nets to combine costs, even on one Medicare card. Only an individual with no dependants is registered automatically. Being "on the safety net" for yourself doesn't cover them. Registration is by form (MS016) or phone, not online, and you only do it once.

Give Services Australia these answers:

  • Family: Arjun, Priya, and your two children (8 and 15).
  • Address: your Geelong address.
  • Medicare card: all on one card.
  • Concession card: none.

You'd type or sign the card number and declaration yourself.

Your son's asthma repeat

I can't advise on that. Please ask his doctor or pharmacist before delaying any medicine. On cost only: the PBS family total includes his scripts, and a repeat filled too early doesn't count toward the threshold. The scripts left to reach $1,748.20 would cost about $143.60, after which each is much cheaper. Ask the pharmacist what his repeat costs now.

Also ask both chemists for a printout of your year's PBS payments, so the $1,604.60 is confirmed.

If money is really tight, the National Debt Helpline is free on 1800 007 007, weekdays 9:30am to 4:30pm.

What it does, in full

Written in English. Answers in your language

Paste, upload or connect your receipts from the pharmacy, doctor, specialist and health insurer. It logs each cost by person and type, counts only what each scheme counts, and shows how close your family is to every safety net, prescription cap, prepayment certificate and tax threshold where you are, with the month you'd reach it.

It tells you the moment to register, get the card or buy the certificate, and your browser helper can fill in the online form and stop before payment or Submit. At tax time it builds the summary per person, with the rule for where you are, and shows each figure where a choice changes the result.

It handles costs and paperwork only: it never says which medicine or treatment to use, and it gives general information, not financial or tax advice. If your email, Google Sheets or Google Calendar is connected, it can find receipts, keep the log and add check-ins, and it asks first. It never pays or submits anything for you.

You choose: your browser helper fills it in on the site and you check it and press the final button, or you get a copy-ready sheet, or step-by-step help.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your email, your spreadsheets or your calendar to your AI app, it can use them to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Does it for you. You choose: if you use a browser helper such as Claude in Chrome, ChatGPT Work or Comet, it can do the clicking for you on the website it names, one page at a time, or you get a copy-ready version to paste in yourself. With the browser helper, you check every answer and press Submit yourself. It never types your passwords or card numbers.

  • Remembers you. It keeps your health file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.

  • Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.
