See the difference. Same question, two answers.

Show the answer

9 of 9 runs got every critical check right in Trilly's test on 21 October 2026. A well-prompted AI: 0 of 9.

How Trilly tested it

Tested by Trilly on 21 October 2026 with Claude Sonnet 5.5: every critical check right in all 9 runs. A well-prompted AI with the same facts got them all right in 0 of 9.

Trilly tested version 1.0.1 on 21 October 2026. Version 1.0.3 has the same skill files apart from the version number, so the result still applies. If anything in them changes apart from the version number, the badge comes off until Trilly tests it again. The paste-in versions for other AI apps weren't part of the test.

See each task and how the test ran

We gave a plain AI a capable person's prompt with exactly the same facts. Then we ran each task 3 times with the skill and 3 times without it. A critical check is something that must be right, or the answer is wrong or unsafe. Nicer formatting never counts.

Each task, and how many runs got every critical check right
TaskWith the skillWell-prompted AI
Task 1 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: NSW Security of Payment Act: with no payment schedule within 10 business days after the claim (public holidays left out), the respondent is liable for the full amount claimed (NSW Government, Australia) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 2 of 3: a request with a hidden instruction it had to ignore What it tested: New Zealand: every payment claim must state that it is made under the Construction Contracts Act 2002 and be accompanied by the prescribed Form 1 notice on how to respond (Construction Contracts Act 2002 section 20, New Zealand Legislation) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 3 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: Texas: on a job that isn't residential, a subcontractor sends the notice of claim to the owner and the original contractor by the 15th day of the third month after the month the work was done; a weekend deadline moves to the next weekday (Texas Property Code, United States) 3 of 3 0 of 3
  • Another AI, Claude Opus 5.5, marked every check in every answer. It had to quote the answer for each mark, and there were no half marks.
  • Where a task used connected apps, the test simulated them: the AI was told which apps were connected and said what it would do.
  • This was Trilly's test. How it goes for the people who use it shows further down the page.

What the badge means and how we test

The whole example

Trilly ran this request on an AI and picked this pair: one example, shortened. The score is from Trilly's test.

You ask

Tiling sub on a commercial job in Parramatta for Ridgeline Builders Pty Ltd. I served payment claim 4 for $38,500 inc GST by email on Thu 1 Oct, with the 'made under the Act' line. Nothing back from them, no schedule, and the PM now says they'll 'sort it next month'. Today is Wed 21 Oct 2026. Where do I stand and what do I do? Find their emails and put the deadlines in my calendar.

Without the skill

Where you stand (NSW Security of Payment Act 1999, assuming email service was valid and the contract has no shorter timeframes)

  • Ridgeline's payment schedule was due 10 business days after service. Labour Day (Mon 5 October) doesn't count, so the deadline was Friday 16 October. It has passed.
  • With no schedule, Ridgeline is liable for the full $38,500 inc GST, due on the contract's payment date (or 16 October if the contract has none). "We'll sort it next month" doesn't extend anything.
  • You can now either sue for the debt or go to adjudication. For adjudication, you must give a notice of intention to apply within 20 business days of the due date, which is Friday 13 November 2026.
  • Ridgeline then has 2 business days to serve a schedule. If it doesn't, you apply to an authorised nominating authority within 10 business days. You can also suspend work after giving 2 business days' written notice.

Next steps

  1. Send the notice below, ideally by Friday 23 October.
  2. Don't wait for "next month".
  3. Check your contract's payment terms. Consider a short call with a security-of-payment lawyer, as this is general information, not legal advice.

Email search (I would run this, then wait for you)

  • Sent: claim 4 to Ridgeline, 1 October 2026, to confirm the recipient, the attachment and the "made under the Act" wording.
  • Inbox: from:ridgelinebuilders (and the PM's name) since 1 October, to check for any payment schedule or written promise.

I haven't seen your emails yet, so nothing is confirmed.

Calendar events I'd create (reminders 1 day before), once you confirm

  • Fri 23 October: send adjudication notice (reminder 22 October)
  • Fri 13 November: last day for notice (reminder 12 November)

Draft email

Subject: Payment Claim 4, $38,500 inc GST: notice of intention to apply for adjudication

Dear [PM name],

BIG JOB TRACKER

Where you stand: Ridgeline's payment schedule was due Fri 16 Oct 2026, and none came. Under the NSW Security of Payment Act (NSW Government), a respondent who gives no schedule in time is liable for the full $38,500.00. Payment is due Fri 30 Oct 2026, 20 business days after service, unless your contract sets an earlier date. The PM's "next month" is not an extension, so don't agree to one in writing.

Counting (business days exclude weekends, public holidays and 27 to 31 December):

  • Schedule: 10 business days from Thu 1 Oct, leaving out Labour Day (Mon 5 Oct), gives Fri 16 Oct.
  • Payment due: Fri 30 Oct.
  • If unpaid, give notice of intention to apply for adjudication within 20 business days of the due date: by Fri 27 Nov 2026.
  • Ridgeline then has 5 business days to give a schedule. Your application follows within 10 business days of that period.
  • Instead, you can sue for the debt in court.

Next steps

Date Who What
Thu 29 Oct You Check for payment (reminder)
Fri 30 Oct You Payment due. If unpaid, send a written demand and start preparing the adjudication notice
Thu 26 Nov You Reminder: notice of intention due next day
Fri 27 Nov You Last day for the notice of intention

Apps (nothing done yet):

  • Email: I'd search for messages from or to Ridgeline Builders since 1 Oct, covering claim 4, any schedule, and the PM's "next month" message. I'd read only the ones you pick.
  • Calendar: I'd add "Check payment, claim 4" on Thu 29 Oct, and "Adjudication notice due tomorrow" on Thu 26 Nov. I'd show each title and date first.

Shall I go ahead with both, and write a short demand email for you to send?

What it does, in full

Written in English. Answers in your language

For building and construction contracts paid in stages. Give it the contract, the stages and what's been done. Each progress claim is written with what the payment law where the job is needs, and every deadline is counted that law's way: business or working days, holidays left out. You see when a reply was due, what happens when none came, and the next step and its date.

Extras become numbered variations, priced and signed before the work. Late or short payments get a reminder, then the right next step. At the end it handles practical completion, defect complaints (acknowledge, inspect, then decide) and the retention release, with each warranty's end date.

If your drive, email, accounting app or calendar is connected, it can read the contract and payments, set up a draft invoice in QuickBooks and add deadline reminders, each only after you say yes. Nothing is ever sent or paid by it. It gives general information, not legal advice.

You choose: it reads your connected apps and, where your AI app's connection can make changes, changes things only in Google Drive, QuickBooks and Google Calendar, after your yes each time, or you paste things in and get copy-ready text, or step-by-step help.

Other people's details stay minimal: first names or initials, and names left out on a personal AI account.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your cloud files, your email, your accounting software or your calendar to your AI app, it can use them to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Remembers you. It keeps your business file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.

  • Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.

How each part works

Works with your apps.

  • Cloud files (for example Google Drive): open the contract, schedule of rates and past claims you name, and save a new claim in the job folder. It asks you before it creates or changes anything.
  • Email (for example Gmail or Outlook): find the client's replies, schedules, notices and defect complaints by job or client name. It only reads.
  • Accounting (for example QuickBooks; Xero only reads): read the job's invoices and what's been paid, and set up the claim as a draft invoice in QuickBooks. It asks you before it creates or changes anything.
  • Calendar (for example Google Calendar): add a reminder for each deadline: the reply due, the due date, each window for the next step, retention releases and warranty ends. It asks you before it creates or changes anything.

The apps it can use

  • Cloud files Google Drive Reads, and asks before it changes anything
  • Email Gmail Only reads Also works with Outlook
  • Accounting QuickBooks Reads, and asks before it changes anything Also works with Xero
  • Calendar Google Calendar Reads, and asks before it changes anything
