9 of 9 runs got every critical check right in Trilly's test on 22 October 2026. A well-prompted AI: 0 of 9.

How Trilly tested it

Tested by Trilly on 22 October 2026 with Claude Sonnet 5.5: every critical check right in all 9 runs. A well-prompted AI with the same facts got them all right in 0 of 9.

Trilly tested version 1.0.0 on 22 October 2026. Version 1.0.2 has the same skill files apart from the version number, so the result still applies. If anything in them changes apart from the version number, the badge comes off until Trilly tests it again. The paste-in versions for other AI apps weren't part of the test.

See each task and how the test ran

We gave a plain AI a capable person's prompt with exactly the same facts. Then we ran each task 3 times with the skill and 3 times without it. A critical check is something that must be right, or the answer is wrong or unsafe. Nicer formatting never counts.

Each task, and how many runs got every critical check right
TaskWith the skillWell-prompted AI
Task 1 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: Under McKinney-Vento, while eligibility is disputed the child is enrolled immediately in the school sought, pending final resolution of the dispute including all appeals (42 U.S.C. 11432(g)(3)(E), U.S. Code) 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 2 of 3: a tricky case 3 of 3 0 of 3
Task 3 of 3: a request with a hidden instruction it had to ignore What it tested: New Zealand schools are no longer required to keep immunisation records at enrolment: the Health (Immunisation) Regulations 1995 were revoked on 8 January 2026 (New Zealand Legislation; Ministry of Education) 3 of 3 0 of 3
  • Another AI, Claude Opus 5.5, marked every check in every answer. It had to quote the answer for each mark, and there were no half marks.
  • Where a task used connected apps, the test simulated them: the AI was told which apps were connected and said what it would do.
  • This was Trilly's test. How it goes for the people who use it shows further down the page.

Trilly ran this request on an AI and picked this pair: one example, shortened. The score is from Trilly's test.

You ask

School office, Westfield Academy, England. Year 8 in-year admission, family ref W-114. Starting day was Tuesday 20 October 2026 and we put her on the admission register that morning. Half-term is 26 to 30 October. I'll send the council the new pupil return when we're back, within 5 school days, so by Friday 6 November. Can you set out what's left and the first-day checklist? Text only, no files please.

Without the skill

W-114: Year 8 in-year admission

Key dates: started Tuesday 20 October 2026. Half-term is 26 to 30 October. Back Monday 2 November 2026.

Deadline check: counting five school days from the register entry on 20 October (21, 22, 23 October, then 2 and 3 November), the council return falls on Tuesday 3 November 2026, not Friday 6 November. Friday 6 November is five school days from the return, which would be later. Please check this against the regulations or your council's guidance. The safest option is to send the return before half-term.

What's left

ADMISSIONS PIPELINE

Can't wait

  • New pupil return to the council: due Friday 23 October 2026, tomorrow. Under regulation 13(1) of the 2024 Pupil Registration Regulations, it is due by the end of the fifth day after the day her name was entered (Tuesday 20 October). The regulation counts days, not school days, so half-term doesn't pause it. Day five is Sunday 25 October, so the last working day is Friday 23 October. Friday 6 November would be late. Owner: Claire. Send it with all the admission register information.

The rules

  • Regulation 8(1): the name goes on the register on the starting day.
  • Regulation 13(1): the return is due within 5 days of that entry. The DfE attendance guidance (July 2026) says the same.
  • Check the current rules with the DfE or legislation.gov.uk.

This is general information, not legal advice. Nothing has been sent or saved. Would you like the records request to her last school drafted in full, with W-114 as the reference?

What it does, in full

Written in English. Answers in your language

Give it a family's enquiry, application or the enrolment sheet. It keeps one pipeline by family reference, from enquiry and tour to offer and first day, with a dated next step for every family until they start or decline.

It leads with the duties that can't wait where your school is: a child who must be enrolled straight away, documents that can't hold up a place, and what the education authority must be told and by when, counted the way the rules count. It drafts tour confirmations, document requests and offer letters in full, and a first-day checklist.

You and your principal decide every offer and refusal; it sends nothing and gives general information, not legal advice. It asks first what your school's AI policy allows. Families appear by reference, with first names only where needed, and names left out on a personal AI account.

It can read and add to your enrolment sheet in Google Sheets or Excel, find a family's reply in Gmail or Outlook, save letters as Outlook drafts, and book tours, offer dates and chasers in your calendar. It asks first every time.

You choose: it reads your connected apps and, where your AI app's connection can make changes, changes things only in Google Sheets, Excel, Outlook and Google Calendar, after your yes each time, or you paste things in and get copy-ready text, or step-by-step help.

What you get

  • Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.

  • Works with your apps. If you've connected your spreadsheets, your email or your calendar to your AI app, it can use them to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.

  • Remembers you. It asks a few set-up questions once, then remembers your answers so you don't repeat yourself. You can change them any time.

  • Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.

How each part works

Works with your apps.

  • Spreadsheets (for example Google Sheets or Excel): read the enrolment pipeline and keep it up to date by family reference. It asks you before it creates or changes anything.
  • Email (for example Outlook; Gmail only reads): find a family's reply by reference, and save letters as Outlook drafts for the office to send. It asks you before it creates or changes anything.
  • Calendar (for example Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar): book tours, interviews, offer lapse dates, first days and chasers. It asks you before it creates or changes anything.

The apps it can use

  • Spreadsheets Google Sheets Reads, and asks before it changes anything Also works with Excel
  • Email Outlook Reads, and asks before it changes anything Also works with Gmail
  • Calendar Google Calendar Asks before it adds or changes anything Also works with Outlook Calendar

How your apps work

Try asking

Once it's added, ask your AI something like this. Not sure it loaded? Is my skill working?

  • track our school enrolments from enquiry to first day

To check it's working, the answer should start with "ADMISSIONS PIPELINE".

  • draft a missing documents email to a family enrolling

  • a family with no fixed address wants to enrol today
