See the difference. Same question, two answers.
9 of 9 runs got every critical check right in Trilly's test on 24 October 2026. A well-prompted AI: 0 of 9.
How Trilly tested it
Tested by Trilly on 24 October 2026 with Claude Sonnet 5.5: every critical check right in all 9 runs. A well-prompted AI with the same facts got them all right in 0 of 9.
Trilly tested version 1.0.3 on 24 October 2026. Version 1.0.5 has the same skill files apart from the version number, so the result still applies. If anything in them changes apart from the version number, the badge comes off until Trilly tests it again. The paste-in versions for other AI apps weren't part of the test.
See each task and how the test ran
We gave a plain AI a capable person's prompt with exactly the same facts. Then we ran each task 3 times with the skill and 3 times without it. A critical check is something that must be right, or the answer is wrong or unsafe. Nicer formatting never counts.
| Task | With the skill | Well-prompted AI |
|---|---|---|
| Task 1 of 3: a job using connected apps What it tested: California Labor Code section 2751: when a commission plan expires and the rep keeps working under it, its terms are presumed to remain in full force until the plan is superseded or employment ends (California Legislature, United States) | 3 of 3 | 0 of 3 |
| Task 2 of 3: a tricky case What it tested: UK minimum wage is checked for each pay reference period (at most a month): commission paid in the next period counts back to the period it was earned in, but paid later it counts in the period it is paid (GOV.UK, Calculating the minimum wage, United Kingdom) | 3 of 3 | 0 of 3 |
| Task 3 of 3: a request with a hidden instruction it had to ignore What it tested: A commission paid outside an employee's established pay schedule is out-of-cycle, so its super guarantee is due within 7 business days of the next regular payday, not of the commission run (ATO, Out-of-Cycle Qualifying Earnings Determination 2026, LI 2026/20) | 3 of 3 | 0 of 3 |
- Another AI, Claude Opus 5.5, marked every check in every answer. It had to quote the answer for each mark, and there were no half marks.
- Where a task used connected apps, the test simulated them: the AI was told which apps were connected and said what it would do.
- This was Trilly's test. How it goes for the people who use it shows further down the page.
The whole example
Trilly ran this request on an AI and picked this pair: one example, shortened. The score is from Trilly's test.

I can't finish this yet. I haven't run anything, and a few things need your answer first.
Q3 2026 figures (8%, earned at close)
- Maria: $120,000.00 × 8% = $9,600.00
- Leo: $90,000.00 × 8% = $7,200.00
- Total payable: $16,800.00
Issues to settle first
- Maria's rate. Her 2025 plan expired December 31, 2025, and she hasn't signed the 2026 plan. Paying 8% with no signed agreement could prompt a dispute, since 10% would be $12,000.00 (a $2,400.00 difference). California generally requires a signed written commission agreement, so please check with counsel or HR. I'd also confirm the 2026 plan states an effective date of January 1, 2026, so it covers Q3.
- Today's date. You wrote Thursday, October 22, but my calendar says October 24, 2026. The 10-day query window ends November 3, 2026 if I date statements October 24, or November 1 if I use October 22. Which should I use?
- Deal-level detail. Your settings require every deal on the statements, and I only have the totals.
What I'd do once you answer
- HubSpot: search deals with stage = Closed Won and close date July 1–September 30, 2026, grouped by owner (Maria, Leo). I'd check that the amounts match $120,000.00 and $90,000.00.
- Google Sheets: create "Brightpath Solar Q3 2026 Commissions" with three tabs:
- Deals: rep, deal, close date, amount, 8% commission
- Summary: totals per rep
- Rates: the plan rate and its source
- Statements: one per rep on Brightpath Solar branding, listing every deal, the rate, the commission total, and the query deadline.
- Docusign: send Maria's 2026 plan (8%) from your plan template.
What I need from you
- Maria's email address
- The location of the 2026 plan file (it's likely in Google Drive), or confirmation that I should use your existing Docusign template
- Your decision on the date and on paying Maria at 8% for now
I'll pause here until you reply.

COMMISSION STATEMENTS
Maria earns $12,000.00 for Q3, not $9,600.00. In California, when a plan expires and the rep keeps working, its terms are presumed to remain in force until a new plan supersedes it (Labor Code section 2751). Her 2025 plan's 10% applies. The 2026 plan applies only once she signs, and never to commission already earned. Leo's signed 2026 plan gives $7,200.00.
| Rep | Plan in force | Counted | Rate | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maria | 2025 (expired, still applies) | $120,000.00 | 10% | $12,000.00 |
| Leo | 2026 (signed January) | $90,000.00 | 8% | $7,200.00 |
Grand total: $19,200.00.
What I would do in your apps (waiting for your yes):
- HubSpot (read only): closed-won deals dated July 1 to September 30, 2026, by owner, with amount and splits, for the deal-by-deal statements.
- Google Sheets: a new sheet, "Q3 2026 Commissions", with a deal tab and a rep summary.
- Docusign: draft envelope "2026 Commission Plan: Maria", signer Maria, message "Please review and sign your 2026 commission plan." Left unsent: you press Send. Please name the plan file in Drive.
Statements (the deal list follows once HubSpot is read; the payday is assumed):
Subject: Your Q3 2026 commission statement
Hi Maria, your Q3 commission is $12,000.00 (10% of $120,000.00), paid Friday, October 30, 2026, under your 2025 plan. Adjustments: none. Reply by Thursday, November 5, 2026 if anything looks wrong, naming the deal and what you expected. Jess Ortiz, Brightpath Solar
Hi Leo, your Q3 commission is $7,200.00 (8% of $90,000.00), paid Friday, October 30, 2026, under your 2026 plan signed in January. Adjustments: none. Reply by Thursday, November 5, 2026 if anything looks wrong. Jess Ortiz, Brightpath Solar
Please confirm the real payday and whether either rep is entitled to overtime. If so, commission counts in the regular rate (29 CFR 778.117 to 778.120).
Next steps
| Date | Who | What |
|---|---|---|
| Thursday, October 22, 2026 | You | Confirm the payday and approve the sheet and envelope |
| Thursday, October 29, 2026 | You | Chase Maria if unsigned |
| Thursday, November 5, 2026 | Maria, Leo | Query deadline |
Once Maria signs, give her a signed copy and keep her signed receipt.

What it does, in full
Written in English. Answers in your language
Give it your closed deals and each rep's plan. It checks every plan is signed and still in force, works out each rep's commission in a workbook, and writes every statement, with trackers for queries, clawbacks and signatures.
It checks the pay rules commission touches where each rep works: overtime, the minimum wage, holiday pay, retirement contributions, deductions and a leaver's final pay. It prepares the pay run file and each new plan for signature, with dated follow-ups.
With HubSpot, Xero or QuickBooks connected it reads your deals and payments, and with Google Drive the plan files you pick; it never changes them. With Google Sheets or Docusign connected it can start the workbook or prepare a plan's envelope after you say yes, and you press Send. It never pays anyone, and it gives general information, not legal or financial advice. Use reps' first names or initials, and leave names out on a personal AI account.
You choose: it reads your connected apps and, where your AI app's connection can make changes, changes things only in Google Sheets and Docusign, after your yes each time, or you paste things in and get copy-ready text, or step-by-step help.
What you get
Ask. Works in the AI apps it's made for. Paste or upload what you have, and it does the job right there in the chat.
Works with your apps. If you've connected your customer records, your accounting software, your spreadsheets or your cloud files to your AI app, it can use them to do more of the job for you. You choose: it works without them too, from what you paste or upload.
Remembers you. It keeps your business file in one place you own: your AI app or your own cloud drive, never on Trilly. So you don't type the same details twice, and it only adds to it after you say yes.
Works over days. It plans follow-ups and reminders with dates, so you can come back days later and carry on.
