What's changed in Human Research Ethics Application, to Approval and After

Versions that passed Trilly's checks, newest first.

  1. Version 1.0.5 · 29 Oct 2026
    • If you ask it to fill in a form version that has closed, it says so and still gives the hand-off card for the current version in the same answer.
    • When it says this is general information, not legal advice, it also says who to ask: the ethics committee or the research office, or a lawyer for legal advice.
    • Every paste-in copy, not only Grok's, now says when a reference file isn't attached, instead of answering from memory.
    • In the Gemini, Grok and Microsoft 365 copies, the hand-off card's site line now names your project, not the app.
    • If you share a password, code or card number, it doesn't repeat or use it, and suggests changing it.
    • Asked to export your details or this chat, it gives your name, contact details and the chat only, and leaves out payment, bank, tax and ID details and passwords.
    • A one-off sign-off is used unless your organisation has locked the signature.
    • It offers a calendar file for reminders and makes it only after you say yes.
    • The list of official sources is set out by country.
    • Nothing else changed.
  2. Version 1.0.4 · 29 Oct 2026

Adds a version to paste into Grok's own skills, and sets up Grok and Grok Build. The Grok copy says when a reference file isn't attached, instead of answering from memory.

What else changed in version 1.0.4
    • Files it makes name people by their role, or leave a blank for a name, instead of your own name or contact details, unless you ask for them.
    • Any colour in a file goes on headings and borders over white, and text is never white, hidden or smaller than normal.
    • Nothing else changed.
  3. Version 1.0.1 · 22 Oct 2026

Asks first what your organisation's AI policy lets you put into your AI, and works from the rules and blank templates where that policy keeps your documents out.

An update that needs more access than yours waits for your yes.
