What's changed in Energy Plan Switcher

Versions that passed Trilly's checks, newest first.

  1. Version 2.0.3 · 25 Oct 2026
    • The Advertised column in the comparison now gives each plan's advertised text whole, including every cheap window (one plan's 10 pm to midnight window was left out of the shown answer).
    • The versions you paste in follow the method step by step, as a pasted copy has no calculation script, and carry the reference-price rule and the "reminders are offered, never said to be set" rule.
    • Corrections to earlier notes: when some NEM12 days have a blank quality cell, a note says so without naming the days; the money and debt help for Canada is a line naming agencies, with no phone number.
    • Since 2.0.0, a setting called count conditional discounts (do you always meet pay-on-time and direct debit conditions) decides whether conditional discounts are counted, and defaults to no.
  2. Version 2.0.2 · 25 Oct 2026

Every sum and difference in an answer checks from the figures it shows.

What else changed in version 2.0.2
    • A reference price with no unit rates in the skill's files is shown as the regulator's figure for a standard usage, labelled as not yours.
    • Days in a NEM12 file with a blank quality cell are named in a note as counted as actual, and the note says when meter times are taken as the market's +10:00 standard time.
    • --currency now also sets the money sign for a JSON plans file that doesn't give one.
    • There's a money and debt help line for one more country.
    • Since 2.0.0, Outlook is no longer read or written: the Outlook mailbox and the Outlook calendar have both gone, and Google Calendar takes the reminders after your yes.
  3. Version 2.0.1 · 25 Oct 2026

A NEM12 day whose quality cell is blank now counts as actual readings, as the format means, instead of every interval being counted as estimated.

What else changed in version 2.0.1
    • Any price cap or reference price beside your result is now priced on your own readings, not shown as a typical household's yearly figure.
    • It no longer asks whether to compare gas, since it compares electricity plans only, and says so when your bills include gas.
    • The script's help now lists --currency, the money sign for a plans spreadsheet.
    • Since 2.0.0, it reads bills and meter data from Gmail only (Outlook is no longer read), and references/method.md replaced references/plan-maths.md with the same sums written out step by step.
  4. Version 2.0.0 · 25 Oct 2026

Starts with the count from your own smart meter readings: this plan saves you this much a year, with every plan ranked and its working shown.

What else changed in version 2.0.0
    • Prices every half-hour, 15-minute or 5-minute reading on every plan with a calculation script that works offline: time-of-use bands by day and season, demand charges, controlled load, solar export credits, daily charges, discounts and credits; for apps that can't run code, the same method is written out step by step.
    • Reads the meter data files people really get (NEM12, a supplier's half-hourly CSV and Green Button XML) and moves each reading to your local clock, daylight saving included.
    • Sets each country's reference price or price cap beside your result, and counts the no-exit-fee window and any debt limit from the right day.
    • Re-checks the last result in your money file, and keeps the switch card, the first-bill check and the reminder before your next plan ends.

How it works changed in version 2.0.0

    • Email: no longer lists Outlook.
    • Calendar: no longer lists Outlook Calendar.

This update asks for more Now runs code on your computer.

  5. Version 1.0.0 · 16 Oct 2026

An update that needs more access than yours waits for your yes.
