   For a small standalone home built without a building consent, it now lists every condition of the exemption: the height, floor level, setbacks, framing, roof and cladding weights, plumbing, power and heating, showers, natural hazards and lot boundaries.

   What else changed in version 1.0.1

   • It says the owner, not the council, decides whether that exemption applies, and that a building consent is the route when a condition is unclear.
   • It gives the 20 working days to send the council the records of work, plans and certificates, and the 2-year lapse of the council's project information memorandum.
   • For any exemption it says when the rule started, what the council won't do, and what you send it after the work is done, by when.
   • Every answer ends with the offer to add the permit number, its lapse date and the inspection dates to your business file, in those words.
