Claude

Doing more in Claude

Works with your apps: Yes

Claude connects to hundreds of apps on every plan, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Notion, Canva, Shopify, HubSpot and Xero.

In Gmail, Claude can write, send, reply to and forward emails, and by default it asks for your approval before it sends, replies or forwards. Outlook needs a work or school Microsoft 365 account.

Trilly skills never move money, whatever the app allows.

Xero is read-only here.

To switch it on: In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Pick the app, press Connect, and sign in on that app's own page. In a chat, press + and Connectors to switch one on or off. Keep anything that changes things on Needs approval.

You choose: let it use the apps you've connected, or paste or upload what you have.

Gemini can find and sum up Gmail, not write or send, so it writes the email for you to send.

Apps you've connected

Only if you've connected them to your AI app. It works without them too.

  • Email (for example Mailchimp; Gmail only reads): Save the appeal and thank-you emails as draft campaigns in Mailchimp, and find donor replies in Gmail. Reads: Donor replies and gift notices in Gmail that you pick after a search by name or subject Creates: Mailchimp only: the appeal and thank-you emails saved as draft campaigns, each only after a yes. Never sends or schedules. Gmail stays read-only. Asks you before it creates or changes anything. Without it: Each email comes in the chat as Subject and body for you to copy into their own email tool.
  • Payments (for example Stripe or PayPal): List the gifts received since the last receipt batch, so each is logged and receipted. Reads: Gifts received in the date range you name: date, amount, donor name and any note Doesn't create or change anything. Without it: You export the gifts as a CSV or pastes them.
  • Accounting (for example Xero or QuickBooks): Match logged gifts to the organisation's books for the results summary. Reads: Income entries for the donation and fundraising accounts you name Doesn't create or change anything. Without it: You paste the account lines or a report export.
  • Spreadsheets (for example Google Sheets or Excel): Keep the donor log, a row per gift with its type and receipt or declaration status. Reads: The donor log or donor list you name Creates: Google Sheets only: a new donor log and new rows for each batch, each only after a yes. Never changes other sheets. Asks you before it creates or changes anything. Without it: The log comes as a Markdown table in the chat, or an .xlsx file if the app can make files.
  • Calendar (for example Google Calendar): Put the appeal sends, receipt batches, claim deadlines and year-end statements on your own calendar. Creates: One event per date, titled with the campaign's short name and the step, each only after a yes. Never invites anyone. Asks you before it creates or changes anything. Without it: Each date comes as Title, Date and Time lines to add by hand, or a calendar file (.ics) if the app can make files.
Where your information goes
  • Donors' names, addresses, emails and gift amounts from payment exports, books and replies: Stays in the chat; the organisation's own Google Sheets or Mailchimp drafts only after a yes First names in the chat; full names and addresses only on the receipt that needs them. Card and bank details are never copied.
  • Send dates, receipt batches and claim deadlines: Your own Google Calendar, only after a yes Titles carry the campaign's short name and the step only, never donors' names or amounts.
